Ryles’ comment yesterday about wanting to ensure we’re doing the right thing in negotiations and staying within the rules feels like an overcompensation.

He knows we haven’t been.

I think we are still favourites but won’t be slashing my wrists if he doesn’t come either.
I mostly drink Hahn Superdry.

I'm hearing there is lots to be done before Galvin lands anywhere. Might not be the case.

If Isaac and Mr. Galvin Snr are keen to get young Lachlan out of Leichhardt before June 30, we may not have a place for him.

It's also unlikely to come down to just money and us not get him. Timing will be ultra important in the final decison too.
Gee, an early excuse pad for the recruitment guru. Can’t make room, what twaddle, well run and smart clubs do it all the time, Gus for instance is the master at it, whether he’s likeable or not.

Will give MON a pass if he gets it done, but am prepared to be disappointed again. If he can’t sell the club , COE, stadium , etc that’s a reflection of ability. Anyway, fingers crossed the club actually succeeds at a decent signing.

1. Latrell Mitchell
2. Kotoni Staggs
3. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow
4. Josh Addo-Carr
5. Josh Curran

I can only come up with a top 5. I don't count Hynes.

Is the standard needing an improvement in this regard?
One thing’s certain: this great game has embraced our Indigenous community earlier and more genuinely than most other sports, possibly more than the entire country.

It’s funny—not that I’m comparing myself to the great man—but Ricky Gervais takes the piss out of everyone, and people love him for it. Most comedians do the same. But if you say something similar on a forum, you’re suddenly a nasty bastard—and if you happen to believe in God as well, you’re a dumb one too.

Even the Talking Parra blokes who have been 100% calm down he’s a done deal at parra have just put out a post shifting the goals post “if he goes elsewhere we tried our assess off to get him but he chose a better fit for him blah blah”

the wheels have come off.

It’s a massive failure by MON, Jim and Ryles if he runs out in other colours in 2 weeks

So where do you play him in the first team picked in July?

Don’t play the man. Those 3 are doing their best.

Did anyone see that underdog tales thing with Munster & Ennis last night on fox league where they are sitting down and talking about the 2020 origin series.

WTF are they sitting in the middle of Shark Park.

Especially as Munster is a Melbourne Storm player.

It made no sense.

Failing to get Galvin because we can’t find a position for him in the team is such a lame excuse. We would really sacrifice getting a potential superstar for the long term because we can’t make room for him with 15 rounds left in the season? If the club is serious how is this even an issue?
(To answer your question he’d play five eighth and you work out what to do with Drown later.)

It might make a little more sense if the Eels were like the Bulldogs right now, sitting in the top 4 and a genuine premiership threat. In that case, you wouldn't want to make major changes to positions or the roster and risk disrupting momentum.

But the reality is, the main goal for the Eels this season is to avoid the wooden spoon and start building for next year. It's about developing the team and giving young players experience so we're in a better position moving forward.

So why would there be any resistance to bringing in a player like Galvin, who could be a long-term option, especially if it means moving someone out of a position who we know 100% won’t be here next year, like Dylan Brown?

Yep, that is what I would do too... just sharing some opinions I heard is all.

If it’s a long term deal and the option isn’t after 2 years then I’d be ok with it.

3 + 1 (player) + 1 (mutual).

Proviso is the player option must be actioned 12 months out, and he loses $100k a year by having the option

So we could have him for the next two years with a possibility of keeping him longer and you would say no?
