Nawaqanitawase scored and had 2 assists (one where he had his head taken off by Ronaldo). For Easts fans/watchers, is the feeling that getting Marky Mark and losing JAS is a net positive?
100%. Marky Mark provides way better value.

I thought Suallii was a solid winger. Great under the high ball and running the ball off his own line. But his ball playing and decision making in attack was pretty questionable. Also struggled to make a line break. Physically gifted due to his size, but never fully got the hype. Was terrible at centre when he played and died with the ball way too many times.

Marky Mark might not be as good as Suallii (when it comes to the physical aspects), but infinitely more skillful. An all round better player who can create something out of nothing.

He’s on 500k vs sualli 850k though his manager is asking for an upgrade to 700k and. A 2 year extension

Upgrade.

Sloth Roth field posted some stats comparing the 2 after the same amount of NRL games and Mark was statistically better in every category.

The 2nd try assist last night was pure class, from standing flat footed, burned his opposite, flick passed the ball to young for a try.

sloth also reports Mark wants an extension with the roosters, looks like that’ll end the speculation he wants to go back to union for the WC

He has talked down the possibility of a code switch in the past, but once again Nathan Cleary has been linked with a move to rugby union.

That is according to Wallabies legend Tim Horan, who said on Stan Sports’ Rugby Heaven that he heard Cleary is “quite keen” on making the switch.

Cleary had previously floated that he may consider playing union at some point in the future. But how long may fans of the 15-man code have to wait? Not long, according to Horan.

“You might not have to wait too long,” he said.

“There’s been some rumours the last two months that he’s quite keen

“I’ve heard it totally separate, he’s quite keen to come to rugby.”

Former Rugby Australia boss Hamish McLennan urged union to target Cleary in October last year after Joseph Sua’ali’i made the switch, telling The Sydney Morning Herald at the time that the game “needs another five Josephs at the World Cup for ‘27”.

Cleary, meanwhile, was asked about the possibility of a code switch by Channel Nine last year and said he may look into it “somewhere down the track”.

“I have great admiration and respect for union players, particularly growing up in New Zealand, it’s so big over there,” he said.

“At the moment I’m pretty happy with where I’m at. Somewhere down the track maybe.”

He won’t play here

If you’re an NRL player Union would have a big appeal.

Its far bigger globally, pay is higher in Japan and France and the sport is far less demanding on the body.

The wallabies should spend 50 milion a year buying up a team full of league players and call them the wallabies

Doubt many people in nsw or qld could name a current wallaby player

And the move for suaali has been a big dud
