Galvin v the Tigers

Welp, looks like Gus has played everyone from ball one.
“We are not involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion and we won’t be involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion,” Gould told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“We wish him all the best.”

There's playing, and there's being a flat out liar.

I love Gus and maybe the ends justify the means of him flat out lying about the Dogs' interest...but I kinda hate it.

I, and many others I imagine, will hope this is a major flop.

He's built a whole career on dodgy deals. All the way back to getting Freddy to Easts

Its not as hard to prove as you might think and even if it is hard, they should attempt to enforce it and put Parra through the wringer. I know for a fact that the Tigers have significant circumstantial proof of Parra breaching the anti tampering laws wrt Galvin, at least enough to make the NRL ask Parramatta & Moses to answer some difficult questions. Even if you dont get a "conviction" it might be enough, with the threat of financial sanctions to make clubs think twice before doing it again.

.

Everybody lies. Only idiots tell the world what they're thinking or doing ahead of time in contract matters.

.
But there is another obvious option isn't there.

It is to not say blatantly untrue things exactly the opposite of what is going to happen by not divulging information on the matter. Keep your integrity and decline the line of questioning.

Just because Parra were too incompetent to finalise the deal, doesn’t mean they weren’t breaching the anti tampering rules.

It would be like breaking the salary cap, recording it in the minutes and still getting the spoon. Just because they didn’t win, doesn’t change the fact they were still cheating

Dogs is a way better option for him than the eels

It’s not without its risks in upsetting Burton and his ex panthers mates but he does take them to another level

Parramatta dropped the ball big time

Why is it blatantly untrue? Dogs played PArra, waited until permission was granted and pounced.

I am over the moon. With all the hype he is getting you’d think he’s already won 5 premierships and named an immortal at 19 years old
The perception of non-Tiger fans around the NRL about the way the Tiger fans feel is so off the mark. Yes....some were sad that he wanted to go when the new broke out. Now, I cannot think of a single Tiger fan that is not happy that this saga is done. Im also happy with the result of where he is going.

Im satisfied that he is not going to Parra because of the cocky behaviour of many involved with that club assuming that they already had him on the books.
Im happy he is going to the Dogs because it already creates important changes to a club that is doing well. A very talented back or half will be out the door come the end of the year. If they don't win it, blame will fall on Galvin's shoulders.

100% true and Gus was telling the truth but he played Parra like a violin. Parra did all the anti tampering, all teh dirty work to lead to Tigers allowing him to negotiate with other clubs and then Gus pounced.

Yeah. Gus got you good

That seems like the obvious solution.

Unless another bottom 4 club (Penrith?) throw him silly money to play 6.

His pathway back into rep football is at centre. So from that perspective he should embrace the move.

Tell me again why we shouldn't trade deadlines before and after the season

All this does is derail teams seasons so player agents can collect fees

King on $400k will want an upgrade foe playing origin. Sexton/Burton/Galvin don’t fit.
Leo Thompson on some coin for moving to the Dogs. This will get interesting if Burton is pushed out
