That's a good point. If a player went AWOL or heaven's to bettsy died, then they obviously get salary cap and roster gets adjustments.
I'm pretty sure I seen something similar where the club simply applies for compensation/adjustment of the deadline for a mid season transfer.

Once the June 30 deadline passes, player transfers are locked down for the rest of the season. Clubs can continue negotiating and signing contracts, but these deals will only become effective from November 1, marking the start of the NRL’s next contract year.

However Tm, my point prior to this was we should be able to apply for an extension if there is not enough time to secure a replacement. We free up a spot but we may have to apply for extension, I think this is right???

We can carry over as well.

Clubs must spend also 97.5% of their cap and have 24 top 30 players signed by 5 pm on November 1. By rd 1 we must have 28 top 30 players signed and by the June 30 mid-season transfer cut-off, our squad has to be full.
But what I think your hinting too is we could possibly upgrade someone and carry over 100k or whatever it is until we get the best player. Is that right?

I was surprised he left, he was a reasonable player, I haven't followed him since though.

True. He hasn't played any 1st grade lately and was still in development with us and although playing regular 1st grade you'd be hard pressed to call him an accomplished 1st grader.

Maybe take him back on a little over minimum wage. He'd be a depth player only

I'd take him back for sure. He is big and fast. You just need him at the right dollars. He'd be pushing for a starting centre spot over Doueihi and he'd be a great back-up in the outside backs.

We need depth.

Forwards have to be our priority though.

We have 3 spots available now. I'd be stoked with Tupou as a depth option.

Will Makasini be ready for first grade next season ? Tupou would be great for us looking at that team.
