Great to get a win first up, especially in Brisbane.

Lots to fix up before next game.

Cleary may be one of the best halfbacks of all time in the NRL but in Origin he really is Jeff Robson mk2. He has to prove himself in this arena for him to be considered one of the all time greats.

2nd half was some of the worst origin footy I’ve seen.
NSW physically dominated across the park, but the halves combo didn’t work. Didn’t play to Moses and cleary’s strengths at all. Not surprising with Laurie as coach

Daley is a shit coach. If we win it will be in spite of him not because of him.

Was good having Yeo just punch through the middle early but would’ve been nice to look for more short passes later in the game. Get the edge forwards and centres 1 on 1.
But it was game 1, probably intentional to play conservative and take the early lead

Jeff Robson never played Origin so it's a poor comparison.

His been underwhelming at origin level yes.

But your kidding yourself if you think Cleary and Robson are the same level of player.

Cleary ran 20 times

Moses 6

Of that was tbe game plan , was poorly thought out. Should have been other way around
I think that’s ok, but Moses should’ve been primary kicker and Cleary should’ve been running wider off the ruck. Look back at the gf against the broncos. Cogger came on and pushed Cleary wider and it changed the game. Could’ve done the same tonight with Moses on the ball more like he does at parra

Great to get a win but thought NSW were well below best and the halves didn’t really work …
Hope they can sort out a more productive game plan other wise off replacing Moses as there’s 0 chance they drop golden boy Cleary

Congrats blues supporters. Far too good tonight. As a Qlder I think it’s time to make some changes moving forward. Dearden to 7. Grant to the bench, he was stinking tonight. Hopefully Hunt to 9 or dare I say it Mahoney. We need someone to shovel the ball and tackle, not kick on the last etc.

That sinbin for To'o was so wrong... as it was for Bailey. Both case they were simply contesting the ball mid-air.

Stupid rule that must be changed asap.
I feel To’o turned away from actually trying to catch it. Bailey didn’t. He was trying to catch the ball the whole time. Regardless, it didn’t make a difference.

Wow that was a largely uneventful and un-origin game.

watching at suncorp as a qlder I was super disappointed with all our forwards bar Tino & Carrigan

whole qld spine was poor, though Munster tried hard.

Nsw did what they had to do, which wasn’t much.

cleary was his usual average at origin level. Moses and Luai were a much stronger combo last year and win by 30 tonight.

Moses starved of the ball a lot, especially in that second half. In the attacking 10-20 there was at least 6 times Moses called for the ball with a numerical overlap and was ignored by the 9, and 2-3 times had space and the numbers and Hudson Young ran rather than passed.

Lomax was brilliant and I think deserved MoM but Haas got it

Moses defense was massive and that 1 on 1 I think it was on Nanai saved a certain try in the first half that could have shifted the entire momentum moment of the game.

of course fox sports played ratings have Moses as the equal lowest/worst of the blues with Leniu but blow smoke up cleary’s ass

All I'm saying is when it comes to Origin, Cleary doesn't do mcuh and is pretty damn average. I threw the Robson mk2 thing out there for shits an giggles as it's a running joke on this forum.

Moses was rather quiet in attack, whether that was the game plan or not he definitely took a backseat to Cleary in attack. Was great in defence as he has been for years now though. Think Lomax has well and truly established himself as one of those people who just play well in the blue jersey.

Lomax plays well in any jersey these days!
