I like the idea of Joash having a go at 5/8, he seems to have a bit of talent and wish him the best of luck.

I’m not a fan of Paps at 5/8 but I’m not sure why. I am concerned about his small size and wonder if he’d be destined for a season of ups when he is on and deep lows when he gets run over many weeks.

In saying all that, there is absolutely no risk in trialing him there.

I’ve just never seen an NRL side go into an off season with a halves position “up for grabs” go well. I really want an established 6 and none of the options sound remotely solid.

I hope I am proven wrong though.

EELS’ BROWN REPLACEMENT?

Parramatta will toy with the idea of giving exciting young prospect Joash Papalii a crack at Dylan Brown’s vacant no.6 jersey. With Lachie Galvin-Belmore bound the Eels will consider a host of options as they work out who will be Mitch Moses’ long-term halves partner. There is support for Papalii to be given a shot given how quick and skillful he is. Papalii rose through the ranks as a fullback and finally made his NRL debut last week off the bench against the Sea Eagles.

The other options include Sandon Smith and Jonah Pezet. Papalii, 20, has spent some time in the halves in NSW Cup this year and may get a crack at some point in first grade this year.

obviously someone else other than pou have been reading my posts.

In case anyone has been wondering, we've been under attack from Bots for some reason and we've put measures in place for added security.

They will not succeed in penetrating our BA type defense.

I was going to give the BA bashing a day off today.

But now you mentioned him i had to laugh at reading this article this morning.

Poor Brad has been waiting by the phone for several weeks from the ARLC with no one in there prepared to pick him up the phone to inform him he hasn't got the Perth job.

GALVIN SHOCKS EELS

Lachlan Galvin’s decision to join Canterbury has gone down like a lead balloon with Sydney rivals the Eels.

Sport Confidential can reveal Parramatta bosses were supremely confident of securing Galvin and believed they had their man before being ambushed by the Bulldogs.

It is understood the Eels had tabled a multi-year, $1 million-a-season deal for Galvin to partner Mitchell Moses at the Parramatta scrumbase next year.

But the Wests Tigers young gun shocked the Eels by taking less to go to the Bulldogs.

Galvin’s management have been criticised for allegedly brainwashing the teenager but the 19-year-old made the call to reject Parramatta of his own volition.

If we really offered that much, thank f he knocked us back / backflipped. Ridiculous money for someone largely untested
I reckon this is complete BS.

I wouldn't trust a word out of the Galvin camp whatsoever after this saga.

With there reputation in there mud this is more spin to try and portray he isn't a greedy f**k by taking less money at the Dogs.

As if Parramatta are going to tell someone what we offered after being burnt.

And i notice they have gone to a QLD journo in the courier mail for this snippet not someone in Sydney who would be closer to the contacts.

Honestly, I hope it’s true we offered him a million. It puts a spotlight on the Bulldogs’ salary cap and TPA arrangements, forces them to pay more than they might’ve planned, and could derail their season. Everyone will know he’s on a million—not the made-up $750k figure—which might stir up their star players and cause tension in the squad

So we got a fair amount of cash for next season and not a whole lot of talent out their to spend it on.

i see Selwyn Cobbo is still without a contract for next year, i doubt he wants to come down to sydney but seems like the QLD clubs dont have a spot for him.

would be a great addition, could partner Lomax for years to come.

Billy Slater doesn't want to pick Cobbo for Origin is all you need to know what his attitude like.

I wouldn't go near Cobbo.

Talented but hasn't got the desire to be a professional footballer.

the bush poet has lost some of his aura after game 1

Cobbo has elite talent and traits, only 22, hopefully he can mature into the kinda footy player he could be.

The word up here is the Broncs aren’t going to bust their gut retaining Cobbo. He’s hard work off the field apparently.
