I’m not sold on Pezet. Metcalf would be my first choice until Lorenzo is ready.

I'm with you on that one...sure he's had a disruptive couple of years but I just don't get the hype..I don't even think he's got a running game has he?

Perhaps Anasta wanted to keep the spot at Parra open for one of his halves clients.

You might be getting very warm there chipmunk with that theory.

And its another reason which makes a bit more sense why Anasta was so off Galvin ending up at Parra knowing the Eels are keen on Pezet if Hughes extends.

Not sure about the mail but was told Ryles/Wisemental are very keen on Pezet due to there connection in Melbourne who both rate him highly.

One problem is though he has contract to 2029 which means once Hughes activates his extension Pezet can talk to other clubs but we will have to offer him 4 years to match the security down in melbourne.

I am not sure if i want to offer someone unproven a 4 year contract.

Unless we offer 3 years at a higher rate to make up for the one less year

If Sandon Smith comes for 1 year as a stopgap then its very easy to clean up the mess if it goes pear shape he just moves on.

Pezet for 4 years would be a disaster i feel.

I prefer we back our own pathways and try and develop some first graders.

Metcalf is the finished product and would cost more than Galvin. Pezet is only 22 and played well (for his age) in a limited sample of games. He could be worth a punt, but yes it would be a punt. Would he willing to come here to fight for a spot or would he demand top 17 money?

Sounds like Ryles backs himself to get the best out of young players with potential. It's a small sample size but what he has done so far with KK, Samrani, Tuivati etc is a good start

Possibly I'll take it one step further.. all those people saying that Galvin should go to the dogs due to their coaching should look at how Ryles has turned the players Ciraldo could not into first graders ..

Pezet is very good prospect, probably better then Metcaf at the same age. Unfortunately his ACL last year set him back 12 months.

WouId be another good option
