I'm appluding cause Gus has turned this club around pretty damn quickly. I'm sure a Tigers or Knights support would have loved someone just to come in and right the ship as Gus has done.

So yeah, happy to support whatever Gus does footy wise. Just don't go watching his twitter account though, he likes cooker level stuff.

When I hear Gould talk about Penrith its "I bought him up from....Dubbo (or insert town recruit came from)" . He is making their success all about him.
The after game stuff with Max King on Wednesday night (Gus image managing to appear like a real player first guy after knifing Mahoney) talking about his relationship with Max's parents as if Gus lounge room recruited him from high school in Maitland. FFS he was from the Storm via Gold Coast before Gould ever heard of him.

He wont give it up. Not because of the money either. Part of the reason he is good at what he does at club level is because of his media profile.

The Galvin situation and Gus fawning over him publicly is nothing new. I remember him doing it at Penrith early on. I cant even remember the guys name, but he waxed lyrical every week over some nuffy back up half at Parra, next year he is playing at Penrith. Never really amounted to much and was gone within a year, but the Gus courtship ritual remains the same.

Edit, went and did a quick search, nuffy player was Tom Humble.

Yep. His reputation was really saved by Nathan Cleary (and Ivan) turning into champions. He is good to a limited degree.
Penrith's dominance after he was punted is really a flukish thing on his record that he gets to point to.

I dont think the lying part is the actual issue.

I think its more the conflict of interest that Gus has across the game.

And while the game is riddled with it. Gus isn't the only one.

He probably is the most powerful though when it comes to it.

Its more that his credibility as a RL media analyst is down the toilet and what can you take seriously because everything he says has a hidden agenda behind it.
