Has anyone seen that we are at 14million salary cap for next season?

It is very hard to believe alot of stuff online these days, but maybe shedding all these players for that reason, but if not true maybe they want to make a play for someone

The only explanation is money.

Garner has been on modest contacts most of his career- Like Hosking.
Maybe he has an offer on the table that is his biggest contract of his career. A sum we won't match. And like with Hosking. Won't stand in his way.

It might be time we stopped rolling over

something must be really wrong if we are still struggling to hold onto our players despite shedding enough players to make a full team

very disappointing if True - id pick Garner ahead of Sorro and Papali'i for the future

maybe Cartwright being released by Parra makes way for Garner to arrive - but surely we are not stupid enough to let him go before June 30

On the face of it im not happy about thatGarns has been close to our best across the season. But im willing to wait a bit and see on this. He is 29, great pick for now but not the future guy we need, re-signing or extending him means giving him his last big contract, but that doesnt mean we have to let him out early, but we just extended Clarke, im reading rumours reported that mav is going, if we extend hasset and let a couple more from that cup side go maybe extend that kid from brisbane, atleast they are the kind of adjustments ive been whinging that we should be making.

Of course maybe they are looking at someone else, that would be cool to.

The story has all the hallmarks of being BS. No quotes and is quoted as being ' a whisper'. Fox news is spelled wrong. Need to drop the 'O' and replace with a 'U'.

Garner was so good for us he actually made the second rower at centre thing Ivan loves actually work. Think of all the times Ivan's done that and it's been awful. Ivan played freaking Tyrell Fumanio played as a starting centre for us and he was better than Billy Burns' worst game at centre. It's like a curse that Garner broke.

I mean wasn't Scotty Sorenson like 29 when he first came to the club? If you have been in and out of first grade as a journeyman you don't have the wear and tear on your body that a 29 year old who's been playing first grade every year for 11 years will have.

18th man for the Titans this week. Coming back from injury.

That story has definately gone quiet up there. Who knows.

I imagine Fifita playing the Panthers and Roosters last year has damaged his stock with most clubs.

If he's willing to f**k over Uncle Nick and the three peat premiers he rug pull any team.

Yeah but Scotty is not really the player he was 2 years ago though is he? He is a super fit guy he looks after himself cleary but even he with his late start is suffering age related physical drop off, that cant be avoided.

TBH i dont buy into the lack of wear and tear stuff for late nrl starters. Firstly they are still playing footy, yeah there is a difference in the physical toughness of the nrl but there is also a diffference in the care and preparation nrl players get. Besides doctors and physios they have trainers to tape and massage them every session, closely monitored fitness sessions again with trainers right there making sure its done right. Secondly age comes for everyone, it doesnt matter how many nrl games you have played.

I just look at our pack and see Yeo is 30, sorro 32, marto 28, garns 29, moses 29. That is a lot of guys hitting an age that we need to start thinking about these things, i certainly woundnt have started with Garns for a refresh, but im willing to see what else they do.

We don't win the 2023 and 2024 comps without Garner.

His ability to actually play the centre position at a first grade level meant that the team wasn't exposed due to the mid game injuries in the GFs.

Salmon in comparison was such a bad defender at centre that Souths scored two tries in five minutes going down his edge in 2023 to get a win.

Insanity to let him go early.
