This is typical of crappy headlines by the media.
The headline says "Jack De Belin will link with Ryles and the Eels on a two-year deal from 2026."

The article says "The Eels have offered De Belin a contract for next year, which also includes a club option for the following season."

So we haven't yet offered him a contract for 2027, we have just include an option where we might do so.

Yep, headline should have said "for up to two years from 2026" instead of "on a two-year deal from 2026" - but I guess it's one character extra.
