Hopefully good newsApparently Campbelltown council will be having a meeting on the 27th June in regard to the Wests Tigers Campbelltown Sports Stadium Request.
Surely a council doesn't have stadium rebuild sort of money? Id have thought it'd be dependent on getting State funding?Apparently Campbelltown council will be having a meeting on the 27th June in regard to the Wests Tigers Campbelltown Sports Stadium Request.

NRL still doesn't have much political clout in NSW.

Look like they will approve ten million and get the feds and state to come up with 40 million to match leichardt oval upgrades
Souths and their benefactors have clearly found an enemy in the roosters here but this actually has nothing to do with the roosters and souths have only themselves to blame.I'm glad Souths are still fighting. It will always be ridiculous to me that we have a world class stadium in Sydney and only one NRL team uses it full time.
City of Sydney join Rabbitohs’ bitter Allianz Stadium fight
I don’t think anyone is really to blame. Unfortunately Covid just f**ked everything up. No one would have predicted that to happen.Souths and their benefactors have clearly found an enemy in the roosters here but this actually has nothing to do with the roosters and souths have only themselves to blame.
They are the ones that signed and extended their contract to play games at Accor until 2030. They signed this deal in 2020, well after the original SFS had closed and been demolished. Had they not signed that extension they would be at the SFS now and there is nothing the roosters could do about it.
They also cite the motivation for their move as being closer to their fans which is laughable given that's the exact reason they moved in the first place. What it's about is getting better crowds and making more money which is absolutely fine, just be honest about it. The government is well within their rights to hold their ground here as they promise sponsors, corporates, local employers etc a certain amount of events at Accor and souths are a key part of that.
Keep in mind that I'm on record as wanting souths to move back to the SFS, it would be great for not only them but the game in general and the roosters would benefit too. However, this narrative that it's our fault is absolute nonsense. Souths management are solely to blame for this.
Souths got offered a very sweet Accor deal and took it. Sucks and was short sighted but its their own decisions thats got them here. At least with 3 games a year at Allianz its a start to them eventually moving there FT.I don’t think anyone is really to blame. Unfortunately Covid just f**ked everything up. Regardless if the NSW government doesn't want to do anything with Accor for the moment, Souths should be able to negotiate a release out of there. It’s hurting the club staying there
I heard a different version of events from Blake Solly so I don't know which version to believe. But you're right 3 games is better than none.Souths got offered a very sweet Accor deal and took it. He’s full of itI heard a different version of events from Blake Solly so I don't know which version to believe. But you're right 3 games is better than none.
Hopefully they e choose those three games for reciprocal membership games and help fill stadiums when they play that team there.I heard a different version of events from Blake Solly so I don't know which version to believe. But you're right 3 games is better than none.
I wouldnt say they are run poorly, they are in top 5 for most off field metrics. He’s full of it
He got offered a reduced rent to stay there with no stadium upgrades and he took it
Now he’s trying to pressure the govt into letting him out of his mistake by basically lieing and saying stadium upgrades were promised
I want to see souths move but not until Solly puts his hand up and admit his mistake
Shows how bad the club are being run that they have kept such a poor ceo for so long
Not bc of sollyI wouldnt say they are run poorly, they are in top 5 for most off field metrics.
Crowe and Pappas dont come across as shrinking violets who would be afraid to get rid of an underperforming CEO?Not bc of solly
They’ve gone backwards under his watch
Solly and pappas at one stage were trying to get rid of Russel Crowe too
