It's not arrogance, it's what went on today.
You can spruik about how long you've been a supporter and how long you've played, doesn't mean you can actually read a game. In fact you are in the majority of fans and how they see things.

If the Sharks had scored those tries on offer Melbourne could not have played the way they did in the last 15 mins.
The Storm would have to had played a very different game.
Unfortunately for us we didn't hold those final passes.
Our defence was good, our attack was not so good.
That simple.
The truth lays somewhere in between both of your opinions. Our defensive effort was much improved for 65 mins, couldn’t fault the actual defensive effort, however our technique left us losing the floor, and the Storm really didn’t throw much at us, they played very basic rugby, knowing if they just completed high, we’d crumble under the pressure, which is exactly what happened.

Ah I see… so when the Sharks attack isn’t good it’s because of the Sharks not the Storms defence…

But hey, let’s just take your word for it because? Everyone else can’t read the game but you can!

I guess we should continue to ignore the reality that the Storm players and coaches focused on completions and not looking for that extra pass if there was a risk - because you can read the game better.

I’m done discussing this with you. You think the Sharks defence was great, I believe the Storm weren’t pushing the play like they can.

BTW, only Toby bothered to go see the fans in the away bay after the game. The poor onfield attitude extends to the off-field.

I don’t care how “upset” you are with the game (though I question how much you actually care), but not even show the slightest appreciation for fans that travelled interstate.
Great point if they are upset I would rather then not shake hands with opposition but at least see our fans.

Today showed with Hynes that stupid flick on, he was trying to take a short cut, take the tackle reset for the next.
The only try we scored was sheer luck.
Our 2nd half no points in close to 70 minutes since Brailey vs Broncos.
It seems like the halves under pressure neither of them, can just go back to simple structure.
Get the structure right do the simple things.
Our spine is now at 1 quality player

Absolutely!

And throw in the penalty and 6 again Nicho gave away - they were shortcuts because he’d lost the contact. Lose the contact, so then try and hold/slow them down with stupid pulling/pushing that makes it really obvious to the ref. That is something that happens to us a lot - give away 4th and 5th tackle six-agains, and it all comes down to us artificially trying to slow down the ptb because we’ve lost the contact/floor.

Something else that I’ve noticed recently, that could easily go in the petty things thread, as the coaching genius Kevvie Walter’s once said after an origin game; ‘even our kick off was shit’. Look at the difference between our kick offs to theirs. Ours typically land at about the 10m line, so their forwards steam onto it and are playing the ball on their 20m from the kick off run, have momentum and time/space to move the ball around. Their kick offs land deep in the in-goal, and we’re struggling to get to our 10m from the kick off run, have zero momentum and zero space to move the ball at all, so their defence can stack in and belt our obvious 1 out runner.

Fair enough. Storm defence was brutal, still our attack was pretty bad.
Apologies though, I went a little too far in emotional posting, too long a day yesterday.

Storm were up for it. The Sharks tried hard at the start and the Storm bashed them. We had 3-4 sets at the start making 19-32m. Not ideal.

why has our attack gone to shit?
When we're in form the passes zing through the hands with plenty of decoy runners, at the moment it looks like it's getting shovelled to players standing stationary with no movement around them, the passes are ending up behind players too and it looks like a knock on is coming. Also it only takes 1 defender to shoot out of the line and we go to shit rushing passes or stupid tap ons, we also have no one with that blinding speed that can make something out of nothing and rely on choreographed plays or someone like talakai steaming over players.

Well to me that's how it looks anyway.

The Sharks have looked the best in the last couple of years when all players are in motion and each line allows the playmakers to take the best option based on decisions made by the defensive line. This isn't the case anymore. It seems like his backline movement has one play in mind and that's all they will be doing. It's why they are trying tap-ons, etc. I'm not sure why they've strayed away from the earlier structure, but the recent structure is overly simplified and easy to defend.

What's worse, is that all plays leading up to it is one-off the ruck runs, where there is no one else in motion allowing the defensive line to compress in on the one runner. It's why the Sharks were so easily contained early on. This, to me, is pure lack of effort rather than game planning.

Training.

I'd say most of our issues stem from this problem.

Listen to any of the ex spiners from storm. Smith and cronk in particular. They always talk about training.
It must be the catalyst for every good thing mentally and physically that happens in that club.

A commentator stated during the dogs v pennies game that the bullies are back trying like they used to. He'd been down to watch.

The training paddock can be a false currency.
Might explain the honesty session
