Today showed with Hynes that stupid flick on, he was trying to take a short cut, take the tackle reset for the next.
The only try we scored was sheer luck.
Our 2nd half no points in close to 70 minutes since Brailey vs Broncos.
It seems like the halves under pressure neither of them, can just go back to simple structure.
Get the structure right do the simple things.
Our spine is now at 1 quality player
Absolutely!
And throw in the penalty and 6 again Nicho gave away - they were shortcuts because he’d lost the contact. Lose the contact, so then try and hold/slow them down with stupid pulling/pushing that makes it really obvious to the ref. That is something that happens to us a lot - give away 4th and 5th tackle six-agains, and it all comes down to us artificially trying to slow down the ptb because we’ve lost the contact/floor.
Something else that I’ve noticed recently, that could easily go in the petty things thread, as the coaching genius Kevvie Walter’s once said after an origin game; ‘even our kick off was shit’. Look at the difference between our kick offs to theirs. Ours typically land at about the 10m line, so their forwards steam onto it and are playing the ball on their 20m from the kick off run, have momentum and time/space to move the ball around. Their kick offs land deep in the in-goal, and we’re struggling to get to our 10m from the kick off run, have zero momentum and zero space to move the ball at all, so their defence can stack in and belt our obvious 1 out runner.
