Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

Why would they? The Dolphins were officially awarded the licence the very next day. The media was already reporting that the Phins had won the license the day before it was announced. It wouldn’t have mattered either way, the ARLC decision was made weeks prior to that announcement (Phins).

Whatever the 3 into 2 into 1 individual bids did at the 11th hour wasn’t relevant anymore and as Torps declared a few months later at a get together, it was way too little and way too late and by that stage resembled something like a burnt pie on the edges yet still frozen in the middle. Shit happens.
I gave up challenging anything you said a year ago. You’ve nearly always been right on the money.

Richo and Livermore signed a NDA then?! Lots of people online claim to be a lot of things. Be wary of people claiming unverified things. Reminds me of secretive Perth bid which turned out to be hot air.

@Red&BlackBear any new updates on Jets?
Yes, there’s always updates. What’s worth circulating is another thing entirely.

I attended the Jets Tigers (Titans Cowboys) game at CBus last week. Richard Hughes filled me in on how things are progressing, some pretty cool ideas etc. He met with QRL this past week, but he does that often. They’re committed to getting it right.

Unlikely that user knows
It’s a genuine shame you’ve become an idiot in the last few months or maybe you’ve always been one, hard to tell at this point.

The more I think about Ipswich being team 20 the more I like it.

I could see Ipswich replacing the Dolphins as the biggest local rivalry

The Dolphins have a huge junior set up and membership. Something the Ipswich set up needs to improve.
Truth is that the Jets junior numbers surpass Dolphins three fold. It’s something like 3,000 compared to over 1,000.

This is because there are far more junior clubs and rugby league excellence schools in the Ipswich catchment than Moreton Bay. Jets streamlined their own pathways with that of the Ipswich Rugby League (IRL) development pathways and Ipswich Junior Rugby League (IJRL) development system.

Whilst the Jets can’t compete with Phins from a membership perspective as far as leagues clubs go - they still own their own assets etc. Commercially, the Jets are currently miles off the Dolphins but in saying all that Jets potential commercial ceiling could be higher. The region is primed for heavy investment.

Lol, too bad jets will focus on being team for all of South east Queensland instead of that region.

but we were told that AFL is taking over Ipswich because it doesn't have an NRL club...

Sydney newspapers logic is that AFL is taking over every suburb down the eastern seaboard that doesn't have an NRL club.
