Galvin v the Tigers

No doubt the Bulldogs did not want Galvin for this year. They did the nod/wink deal and expected him to stay at the Tigers for the rest of the year and have him push for a release in the off season to start at a Sextonless Bulldogs next year.

Tigers going off script and forcing the issue and the subseuent bullying claims pushed everything forward and Dogs had no choice but to take him this year when the Eels started upping their offer.

Sucked in to everyone I say.

You did sign a middling half and paid 750k a year for the privilege.
He was terrible on Friday and was part of the reason you lost.

Proof will be in the pudding at the end of season. Plenty of time for him to find his feet in a new system. Especially with the draw that we have coming up in the next 4 weeks.

While you guys have Dylan Brown getting paid a motza next season to be less than middling. Middling might be a good place for him to reach.

We’re overpaying Brown no doubt but he’s a significantly better player than Galvin. We also suck so we need to try something, your mob was running 1st and Gus decided to self sabotage.

Is he? And I think you are jumping the gun early. Still plenty of time left in this season to play out.

DylBro is an international five eighth who has played in a grand final and has 137 NRL games and 8 international games at the age of 25.

His form this year has been gash coming off an ACL injury and having his bluff called by Parra but putting aside the Knights mad deal I'd say calling him significantly better than Galvin is being very kind to Galvin.

I thought Boy Wonder had some good touches in the 1st half against the Broncos. 2nd half was a mare.

Its from one pressure filled environment into another for Galvin. The Dogs have moved on their 7 and 9 to accommodate him. And they've done it mid-season when the team was flying in the top 4.

Its been said to death but a 2026 signing made far more sense. Now they've got intense pressure after losing 2 in a row. Comeback loss was a big shock. Have to travel to Townsville. Its a shitshow honestly.

They should have kept him in NSW cup this season then, learning the club, systems, etc.

It was only ever going to be a shit show bringing him in when they were leading the comp. Only way they could go was down and naturally he’s going to cop the brunt of it. Would have been way better for his confidence and development to bring him in next year than derailing this season. It’s not like he’s good enough at the moment to be a difference maker in a positive way.

I think we completely misplayed our hand in this one, and it has likely played a role in derailing our season.

That said it does soften the blow knowing it’s done the same to the Dogs.

I highly doubt Issaac Moses would have let the dogs play Galvin in NSW cup for the rest of 2025.
I do think its bit early to call it being a failure, but if it does end up being one, how long before gould comes out and says "i told you so" and punts him
