Munster’s father tragically passed away last night, so he has left camp to be with family. Expected to return for the game.

I reckon he will play the game of his life tbh

This is what Luai and Cleary should prepare for. All the more motivation for them to deliver, especially Chin.

That's if Munster still plays, and nobody could blame him if he realises he can't give this game the full attention it deserves. A couple of seasons ago Ronaldo had a stillborn son just a few days before Man United's big clash with Liverpool and CR7 stood down for the match.

The biggest threat to the romance of Origin is a sustained run of NSW dominance. QLD playing stocks are pretty low at the moment hence some of the players named in the squad. Origin frankly only really works as a concept when QLD are winning and the NSW selectors keep shooting themselves in the foot. You pick your best half and best five eighth , not your 2 best halves and play one of them at five eighth ( referencing Cleary and Moses )

biggest threat is the over refereeing

Let’s face it if those teams on paper lined up and played 4 times NSW would walk in 3 times with QLD maybe jagging the other game if they got a significant possession majority. What can QLD do to win this match?

Well if you asked the NSW players what they’d least like to see it would be the presence of Reece Walsh ball playing in the line. The quaintly named “face ball” can unlocked any defence . Back in the day Mal Reilly was a great exponent of it. Not too many can do it well today. Katoa and Walsh and a few others can.

I’d put Walsh on the bench and activate him with 15min to go before halftime and 15 min before full time. Get him to play five eighth , move Munster to hooker and put Grant on the bench. Gives Grant a rest too as he’s not really an 80 min player anyway .All things being equal that’s the only way I can see QLD winning this match .

I'm not convinced Billy won't make a late switcheroo and slide Walsh into fullback as the plan all along with Shiba happy to be the fall guy from the beginning. At least that's what I hope he doesn't do.

Talk in the media this morning (namely the Terrorgraph) that Walsh has been training at five eight during Munster's absence and, should Munster not play, Walsh will be five eight.
