Rumoured Targets 3

He’s a decent signing IMO. First grade ready with some experience to cover. I expect/hope some of the younger guys take over him within the next year though and he’d be more depth. He’s better than the likes of Tom Cant.

He’s a bit like Leo for mine. Pretty underwhelming in terms of runs but works very hard in defence. Won’t win you a game or lose you one either.

Yeah I don't think we need to make a splash just yet if the right person isn't available. If we can get 80% of Leo for 50% of the wage then that's smart business. Kind of why I'm surprised we apparently had no interest in Kerr.

Im not that surprised. He’s having his first ok season. Neither Bellamy or Bennett rated him or could get good footy out of him so it’d be unlikely AOB could.

I don’t think Saulo is a bad signing tbh. He’s been at the club with arguably the best forward pack in the game for the last couple of years so would have learned from guys like Papa and Tapine. He’s got plenty of tomorrows and at least has some NRL experience already. And the bonus is we’d be getting him cheap because he’s coming back home. So it’s a low risk signing.

Probably is but feels like we are getting whatever is after sloppy seconds.

Once we missed out on the prospects like Latu and Pahulu, there was no chance of a blue chip signing. The next port of call is cheaper players where there’s a realistic prospect of them outplaying their contract. Saulo and Crouch have been two of the three best props in NSW Cup this season. These are good signings and I think Crouch in particular will become a legit good first grade prop. It’s now looking like we’ll go into next season with real playable depth instead of being up shit creek once we get two injuries.

I think depth is the key isn’t it. If we can top this off with a guy like Tre Mooney or even Papa that wouldn’t be a bad recruitment drive.

I expect either McCarthy or Annan to get moved if Gags re-signs. I reckon Cogger will go to ESL too. If Gamble can play 9 he will stay…

If we assume the last signing is a hooker and Gags and Friz bite the bullet and accept their offers what does our 17 even look like?

KP
Dom
Gags
Best
Marz
Sharpe
Brown
JSaf
New Hooker
Saulo
Lucas
Friz
Crossland

???
McEwen
Crouch
Croker

Apparently on very decent $$$, will take a hit to move that deal

Our way 1-7 looks really good, but gees aside from Lucas and Safiti its bog average - really feel next year will be 1 too many for Tyson.

Tyson has looked off the pace this year. His game has always relied on explosiveness, and 30 somethings just don't have it. Still rather have him than not (for both off field and on), but he is a bench player now.
