For me, what's crucial is the make the most of the wreckage of 2025. Toughest off season ever coming up.
The wreckage was always self-inflicted for mine.

We've been preparing for 2026 since October last year.

Every week it has felt like we've just been experimenting and we're still playing trials.

Well Well Well and I Found Out are plod. This relegates it to a level below Masterpiece.
Just relistened to Well well well and wowee I love it even more!

I'd love to see Lomax do some primal therapy screaming like Lennon on Well well well, it'll do him the world of good, get the yips out of his game.

Make of it what you may.

That is very clear and sensible. I would have thought Brown should move into the centres but that would be him getting in the road of those combos and the fact is our starting hooker was out suspended. So the move made sense and also Aravinda was playing well when he came on so you wouldn't bring Brown back on to play hooker.

Isolation is one of my favourite songs on the album.

I think Lomax needs to sing "Mother'' but replace it with "Flanno".

It was bound to happen. Change of coaching staff, more than a fair percentage of underperforming players on the books. Lane wouldn't be out of place in Nimbin as an example. The new lads have mostly shown promise but the elephant in the room is Moses and his contributions come 2026. There's heaps to consider.

It was very clear (to me at least) that he has a plan for what he wants and how he wants us to look and play.
Unfortunately, there were/are too many inplace contracts for that plan to be fully implemented in 2025 but it is getting a hell of a lot closer for 2026. It includes giving the "rookies" as many games as possible without totally giving up the chance of winning any particular game in 2025.

Brown has been a passenger all year and now people are pissed off we’ve given Papa a shot at 6? FFS.
Overall I think ryles has done a good job. Not saying he’s been perfect, he’ll a learn a lot from the year. But a lot of his big calls have paid off. Gets rid of sivo, gutho and RCG. Sivo unfortunate to be injured but the other two have not played better than their replacements and will only get worse as they get older.
We’ve had Moses out the majority of the year and have still shown some promise in patches in games. We could’ve picked Cartwright, lane and Matto every week and maybe won a few more games but still missed the 8 and been in a worse spot for next year.
Major worry for next year is recruitment. So many young players for next year that will be better for this season and another pre season. But we still lack a few signings to round out the squad

the question mark for me moving forward is what are we doing about our juniors? Who is in charge of making sure Parra get the best 16, 17, 18 year olds in the country to come and play at our club? They seem to be going to the other Sydney clubs.

Bang on, mate.

It's been a huge rebuilding year which has shown green shoots which we haven't seen for decades. First half today Eels were brilliant in attack. That was clearly Union level crafted attack.

It’s been a major issue since 2021, and our.CEO is happy to give those responsible some sort of pass mark. How can we continue with players that try really hard but do nothing out of the ordinary as permanent centres. If they can’t find suitable signings with the cap room we should have, then surely their time has passed.

The team is built for 2/3 somewhat elite signings to be set up for a while, however that is not something we have seen them do. The club may be surprised at the number of non renewals for STH for 2026 unless there are some rabbits pulled out of hats.

There's a fantastic cover by Ty Segall which I urge you to check out if you haven't already.

If Cold Turkey were on the album it would be next level awesome. Lomax needs to get some primal therapy and let his lungs express his inner emotional discordance through sonic recalibration of his metabolic soul syncopation.

I’m still f**king pissed st the merkin missing the hip drop on Katoinga
One of many calls they missed. Penalise JAC for a bad play the ball but let Eisenhuth get away with one that was worse and heaps of others from both teams. Double movement for one of their tries. Lindsay Smith knocking on into our player in the play the ball. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Unfortunately with where we are at, we need more than our fair share of calls to our way. That doesn’t happen in the nrl though, as seen over the years (even for us when we were a better team) it always goes with the team that was expected to win.
