Couple of prominent leaders left (not part of rebuild or reset plans), we decide to buy NSW cup players mainly , most couldn't crack it at their previous clubs. Plus we still have a few duds on our books from the BA days offering little value. Whole new structure and training, new coaches, inc rookie head coach

If I saw another club do all this, then id expect that club to be towards the bottom first year, which is what i thought we would end up. Amazed many said we would make the 8
That’s fair but if we have another season like this with all the money we have under the cap, Ryles may fall on his sword. Kearney style.

Good post but I honestly thought Ryles wirh the roster he had may have been able to get them playing to a top 8 standard.
So hes ripped the guts out of the team and not exactly got the team humming.
Give him another year before hes hung out to dry
I still can't believe we were offered Sandon Smith and said no..
I was told this by a very senior person at the club...

Hey merkin. You are the f**king dope that doesn’t rate Iongi. Possibly the rookie of the year. And if you could identify sarcasm you’d realise that Gaz is full of shit when he said he’d sack Ryles. He is just baiting and your lack of intellect cannot identify it.

f**king idiot!
I do rate him as a prospect. I think most of you merkins who have been shooting ropes over him all year are f**king delusional, because his actual performances for most of the season have been so-so, but he’s continuing to improve.

But yeah, I’ll take tips about spotting talent from a bloke who made a full thread about what a signing Morgan Harper would be.

Yeah I think this time next year we should be a lot better

Im not ok with this year but also ok with it , provided we grow well next year

The sour point will be come rd 20 next year, if we are standing in the same muddy puddle...

So what’s Ryles’ min. KPI for next season?
If were bottom 4 and still lumbering at Origin time in 2027 he goes.

Thats around 60 game sample size and 2 1/2 half years to rebuild a roster.

Sounds like i am settling for mediocrity but that's the fairest assessment and time you can give to judge a coach.

BA in that time frame had us in top 4 by then we got stripped with points with the Salary cap at that same period in 2016.

We actually had a worse year in our 2nd year under Arthur then his first year.

And if Ryles gets a big scalp in recruitment like a Tino for 2027 in the coming off season you have to give him 2027.

Again he did a good job and was always a stop gap. I didn’t say he would play international football.

There's no way Ryles should be near the joint in 2027 if we're Bottom 4 in 2026.

He gets one season, 2025, to do what he needs to do with his little play thing. He doesn't get any more time.

Ryles needs to go and plead with Tino to sign with us..

I can only see him sticking around as the coach if we get a better forward pack ...

Sam Tuivaiti as probably the only one I would keep for 2027...

Nothing like a loss on here to fire up the place....we suck simple as that.
I would hope the club also ask that that ref and the video ref impostor are not given the reins to our games...gee they were shit and shitter..or dumb and dumber

I issue the certificates here. Don’t question the boss.
I just found the thread. You posted it *on Christmas Day 2023*.

It read “I’m tipping a big year and an extension on his current deal before Season 2024 concludes.”

The only certificate being handed out here is the one involuntarily admitting you to a psych ward for being so f**king bonkers lol.

If Tino wants to leave the Gold Coast, there will be 18 other teams who wants sign him.

I can't see him remotely considering Parra as a viable option.

I like that Ryles is building a different style in attack but it’s too patchy at the moment. Our defence is average as well. 2nd half was very poor.
A soufflé’s only as good as what you put into it, start with bad eggs, and it’ll collapse every time.

I think Jack doesn't add much to our team in the middle. He offers more at edge.

Doorey surprised me today. He ran some good lines

Atm we still have $1mill of deadwood in 2026 with Lane and Matto to get rid of.

2026 isnt a write off yet and will judge next year once I see the final roster and how we go.

I guess at the end of the day it all depends on if we keep our fragile 7 on the park.

If Moses plays 8 games again next year it truly wouldn't matter whose coaching if your main general on 1.2mill cant be on the park.

I think we see growth with some of the young players with another pre-season under there belt.

The efforts of some of our senior players concerned me more today then the youngsters.
