Everyone's view on Tino seems to ignore the fact that all of the other 18 teams in the NRL would likely be interested in his services, which is the biggest stumbling block the club will struggle to over come if he becomes available.

None of that could convince a 19 year old who supported the club all his life, is managed by the cousin of our Captain, who apparently wanted him to sign with us, and a player who was apparently keen to get out of his current club to want to come to the club.

Why would any of it entice Tino ahead of all 18 other NRL clubs?
The club best at signing good players and getting them develop is Canberra recently, so the other club identified with great recruitment is the Roosters , so they go and employ the Canberra guy. Tells you that no one seems have tried to entice our R&R team, heck even the player managers are not enamoured with talking to them apparently.

Let’s see if they can add the elite players needed for the next step, haven’t shown much since 2021 , with the market not flush with talent for 2026, all the talk about surprise signings become available would be a surprise. The Bulldogs saw the need for star players to make them competitive and managed to act , that’s evident and we are still miles away.

You keep saying that as your only defence

Which of those clubs would he go to , that needed him and had the coin?

He was lured to a basket case titans wasnt he ?
I think most clubs would move players on to get Tino.

If Tino became available both Politis and Gus would manouvre things within their roster to accommodate him...he would choose both before Parra. Apparently his father played for the Roosters.

There is also the question on whether he would even want to move to Sydney, he's not from Sydney after all and never lived here.

As far as Sydney clubs go, I'm not sure we'd even be in his Top 5 preferences.

Perth and PNG will obviously have more money than us available...PNG he won't pay any tax, which for someone in the top tax bracket that is going to be significant.

I'd say he'd rather play for the Dolphins and Cowboys than us. You'd think Dolphins could accommodate him easily and pay him more than us. Broncos probably don't have the cap, but who knows if Haas departs.

The Storm would likely move Nelson on to accommodate a return for Tino.

I'd be surprised if we're in his Top 10 options to be honest.

I do wonder if Galvin was here how much media scrutiny and focus would actually be on him compared to what it is atm.

I think we dodged a disaster at least in the short term.

He only has to sneeze atm and its a massive story.

Yet our R&R team were convinced he was going to sign, they have missed the boat in a lot of targets and a club our size and significance should have staff that are regarded in the top quartile of performers in their role. That’s the base for good staff, not sure our gurus meet that objective.

The critique is not aimed at anyone personally, it’s just we are failing at that part of the club and it’s frustrating as it’s been the case really since Brian Smith. Too friggin complacent from the CEO and his hires.

I think we all understand the fact we are next to no chance and the other clubs would also be going after him..

Though how many already have their cap filled for the year he is off contract? its not all 18 clubs that will have space for him..

You sound like Pou telling us shit we already know..

There is more of a chance of @Avenger taking up my offer from yesterday than us getting Tino or even getting a second glance..

But we need a forward leader of his ability and hopefully a (Current) representative one..

Oh yeah dont worry i was told the other week at a sportsman lunch i was at.

Happened to be sitting at the same table with someone who used to be involved with our club but isn't anymore and runs a massive business spread across the world that has massive contacts with potential TPA opportunities.

That the whole week the Galvin circus started to pivot he was getting released our club were telling him everything was under control Galvin will be here next week. His services or those he may know wasn't required.

Also on the table that day was a prominent Parra official from back in the day. Now he isn't involved with this btw.

But i know for a fact we had some officials pretty naive to what was actually going thinking they had the Galvin deal signed and sealed. And this ex official was trying to tell them on the friday night we beat Manly you sure its under control his mail was he is going to the dogs. The club were in denial

But i think it reinforces some people with some pretty influence roles at the club just don't have the footy smarts or proactiveness to get shit done in the crunch moments.

And were left at alter with the tail between our legs

Ummm, well if we had done the work around the Parra CBD as we should have, would it be a problem ( Dogs and Roosters don’t seem to worry)
But we're not the Dogs or the Roosters. You yourself have outlined the deficiencies in R&R that aren't going anywhere.

Everyone seems to think Parra plays in an NRL comp by themselves...

I agree with everyone on this...we'd be a great side if we were the only team in the comp.

All valid points

But he joined titans with that sort of landscape..

As JokerEel had said we need to try and try hard

I don't think he comes to us either, but never know , we need a big dog

That’s the spirit, accept mediocrity, even Fitzy wouldn’t have been happy with that attitude.
