The softest of soft draws continues for Penrith.

Souths are in a real hole with even Bennett copping some heat in the media. That means he will have them up for this but hard to see them winning.

Its Tuesday and everyone is talking about Penrith.

How could you blame them? The most extraordinary club in the entire world has once again defied the odds and won 5 in a row. Remarkable, truly remarkable.

Souths left edge will test Penrith's right who will likely be missing Tago. Cleary still injured, uncertainty if Martin will play. A compromised right edge against Souths lethal left should see them score some points.

But there is a touch of destiny about Penrith. They'll win this by 2. Say 24-22.

Yep, it's very unfair. We haven't had to play a team better than us since 2019. We are almost in Sharks territory when it comes to soft draws. Ivan should be able to install the 3 speed crash box for this one, no syncros required.

We are the biggest one-man team I've ever seen.

It's so bloody ironic that this season, of all seasons, is the one where Latrell is fit, has looked the most involved, is cleaning up kicks, running back kick returns hard, putting up towering bombs, and still creating tries... while the rest of the team is injured or rubbish. We could have had another premiership at least if he has this had happened earlier. Alas.

I've got a feeling it might be 28-0 at half time again. But unlike last time, it won't be Souths ahead.

No need to get all uppity

A 14 week period of the below is user friendly wouldn't you agree?

This season the whole draw has been weird.

Souths have literally won more games against the current top 8 than the Bulldogs have:
- Souths have defeated Brisbane, Penrith and the Roosters
- Bulldogs have defeated the Raiders and the Roosters

This week is our 11th game vs a team in the current top 8, while the Storm play only their 5th game vs a team currently in the top 8.

We can argue about salary caps, on field rules, injuries, etc - I sure have - but it matters not while the draw is the most unbalanced part of our game by a lengthy margin.

The first 3 weeks of that would beg to differ based on results. But yeah, it reads as a pretty cushy run. You could pick a similar block for most sides though.

2 top 4 sides in there, and we know the result of those.

No easy games anymore, any team can win on the day. I did notice however the next games after that you failed to mention. Typical Roosters supporter.

3-4 years ago, the Panthers had to play their stars busted, needled up with broken bones (literally), just to beat us.

Now, they can happily rest Cleary and Yeo.

What a fall from grace.

A few teams in that list that have beaten us more than once this decade…

IMO Ivan is taking a huge gamble resting Yeo and Cleary. Especially ontop of Tago and Martin being out. We could almost certainly get the 2 points if we took our best available 17 in and treated Souths as if they are a threat. We aren’t exactly safely in the 8 to be gambling with our roster.

We got pumped by Souths once already this year because we didn’t respect them. We should not assume the 2 points is ours this time.

Only when Latrell was out of the team. If he was playing it was just target him and job done.

100% agree.

Its almost an entirely new edge outside of Jenkins. Its 71% tries scored on the left for Souths this year which is easily the highest in the comp. Edwards in is a plus because I think he is going to doing plenty of cover defence.

Souths is our hardest game left until we hit the top 4 teams (Storm, Raiders, Dogs). I would have preferred we played more of our best in this one and rested in other rounds.
