Melbourne 14.

DCE to create some drama by letting everyone know he is open to an offer from the Knights for 2026.

'I just want to be clear and transparent with everyone so it doesn't distract from our preparation for this game. I am 100% available and on the market in 2026 and would like to put this matter to rest. I am now happy to answer any questions about my contract status...yes yes you with the red bandana from the SMH?'

Penrith have the wood on the Storm because they have the tactics to shut down Jahrome Hughes. In fact , I can’t remember the last good game he’s played against the Panthers. Cut down his time with the ball by rushing up in a straight line. Shut him down and you shut down the Storm.

Manly’s game plan should be simple. Early ball to Turbo and Koula. None of this catch the ball, take a few steps then pass it from DCE. Just shovel the ball out as quickly as possible. When defending rush up on Hughes whilst being careful to keep a straight line. Reduce his thinking time. And pressure his kicks.

The Storm are not going as well as their position on the table would suggest. Their attack in the Sharks’ red zone 2 weeks ago was abysmal. Totally disjointed. On another day Talaki scores 2 tries and the result goes down to the wire. But the Storm are very good at piling on points when the contest is over.

If Haumole was playing I’d consider tipping Manly. But he’s not so I won’t. And Manly haven’t won 3 in a row very often under coach Seibold.

Beating two NSW Cup sides at Brooky has papered over the cracks for Manly, expect they get exposed here. No Paps will keep it closer but dont see Melbourne having too many issues. Storm by 18.
