Storm being premiership favourites has been almost entirely based on their team on paper and not from watching their games. People are expecting them to fire at some point but they've rarely looked likely to me. Warbrick will be a big in when he gets back though, I say it every week, but Grant Anderson/Meaney and to a lesser extent Howarth make up absolute plodder central. That's the cost of keeping your spine together though.

As always, they are workmanlike and don't beat themselves, except for tonight.

Just caught the highlights, how wasn’t NAS binned at minimum?

And Grant on Brooks was worse than Oshay Olay’s which he was sin binned for so Storms can’t complain there.

Shocking way to decide a game but we didn’t deserve it anyway to be honest.

not sure we have it in us to do anything special this season.

As usual, your takes are pretty spot on. A lot of fans hate Melb so don't care about the ending. But in all reality, it is a bloody shit way to lose a game of footy. The contact was quite minimal....minimal enough to continue the game of footy. DCE was smart enough to use as challenge as while the contact was minimal, there ws definitely contact. The call forced the video refs hand to provide a penalty kick. One of the necessary evils of the video ref system.

I feel you are wrong on one point though. I feel the Storm will make a statement this season. Manly were always a sneaky chance tonight. A pretty healthy squad, no Origin reps, well rested and playing against a team with big disruptions with Origin and injury to key men. I thought in terms of toughness, that was easily Manly's best effort of 2025......yet you had enough opportunities to win. I think tonight was the only time this season where they beat themselves. Id be shocked if they beat themselves again next week.

Melb will get it together the next few weeks. They DO need Paps back so Meaney can fill one of the centre spots. Joe Chan is a decent player but you cannot go to finals with him still filling in that spot.

Just saw the highlights.

NAS has to be the dirtiest player of the last fifteen years right?
Put it this way.....it is indisputable that no player has got away with more dirty stuff on field and at the judiciary than NAS. If he was at St George, he'd have a longer charge sheet than Ryles.

Aloiai got 2 weeks for barely touching Johnson’s leg against the Warriors. Grant on Brooks was more contact . Can’t wait to see what the suspension is.

Thanks mate, I try to remain balanced!

I think on paper we have the squad to win the comp but alarm bells are ringing now, we can’t seem to put 80 mins together. You’re right tough, our origin players aside from Coates looked exhausted and flat. Might take a few weeks to get them up and about again.

Apart from the decimated pack and losing Simpkins to the filthy NAS mid match.

Took him ages to get back into first grade after he launched himself like a missile and accidentally broke Meaney’s jaw. I’ll be surprised if Bellamy picks him again in first grade again this year unless there are a lot of injuries.

It will never not be funny to me seeing Storm fans complain about the way they are going despite they are going to be top 4 again (unless something major happens) go talk to the Tigers and Titans today that Melbourne aren't going well.
