Our future 6

Joash is very much a work in progress. Can't defend, can't kick, won't run, can't pass - all the things you should learn from u/8 to u/12. This should be a fun ride.

He wasn't even the 6 in cup. Seems like he needs at least a year or two in the position in cup until he builds up physically aswell.

I can't see him being the starting 6 in 26

Ryles was pretty clear in the press conference that he'll stick with Joash for now and give him a chance to grow into the role.

If we can't get Averillo

I would sign Douiehi

He is available and the best on the market as the stop gap with versatility as well.

His a seasoned pro.

Wouldn't cost more then 450-500k.
Yuck. I don’t know why but I can’t stand the thought of cheering him on.

If Joash isn’t the 6 (which is looking possible) I’m more keen on throwing Walker in there after a full offseason training next to Moses and or Hawkins.

Some of the ball playing he does, even at his age is so far beyond anyone else we have in the team including DylBro.

He's a QUALITY stopgap for a year that’s I’d argue improve us that we can fill internally.

It may be a decent stopgap but your then taking Walker away from his current strengths which is ball playing middle forward/lock.

Walker was a 5/8 for years at Manly and was dogshit in that role.

Now he is better player now but i would say his best footy has been what he is currently doing coming off the bench or playing the 13 role.

Why move him away from what he is doing currently very well.

Adam Doueihi is still better than Dylan Walker. I’d take him.

I hear you buddy, but it’s almost like me saying I won’t promote someone in my team as they manage their current customer portfolio too well and it leaves us exposed.

I’m with you re his impact off the bench but to be honest we are not winning many games atm.

I know he went downhill at 6 in Manly but gee I reckon he’s a much smarter person/player.

Id prefer have him in the ball selecting who to shuffle it too and concentrate on replacing him at 14. Where they is a R Smith terrier off the bench, Moretti or someone else but yeah, I’m not a fan of AD.

In saying all that I truly hope Joash turns into a freak #6 but I’m doubtful.

I would because it means you can keep Walker in the current role he is playing.

If it ends up being the only solution next year moving Dylan Walker to 6 because he is our only option its a genuine disgrace by our R&R.

How many failures do we need in this space before MON is basically given the door.

And if the weak as piss CEO we have doesn't have the balls to do it he can go as well.

The continual no look pass and lack of taking on the line was frustrating to watch. He made that one nice short kick and that’s all I noticed. He’s nothing special.

He tried too much which is the opposite to what Brown has been offering not trying at all..

But as mentioned I am fine with him being played at 5/8 for the rest of the year if he atleast learns each game.

Next year though if he doesn't improve I dont want to see him in the NRL side.

Jake Av would be a very welcome edition to our side, wouldn’t he!

PS I wonder what the win record is for NRL teams that go into pre season training without their spine decided? I’d suggest it’s very bad.

I can’t believe we’ll go into this year on a hope and a prayer if nothing changes. It’s also setting up kids like Joash to fail I think which doesn’t help anyone.

Doueihi, whilst limited, is an absolute goer. A real footy player. Would pair well with Moses. Lives on 12 month contracts. Great attitude. Leads every kick chase every week. Would teach the Papalii’s of the club about resilience, determination what it takes to survive in the NRL and how lucky they are to be in that position. would be an excellent signing for a club like Parra right now.

Sarcasm is it? Is that all it is? Then just waiting for a reaction maybe? That’s trolling 101.
