Castleford’s Director of Rugby, Chris Chester, built Leigh Leopard’s roster and is a great coach in his own right. Took teams with no money, spending under the cap for survival, to Finals in SL as a coach and setup the system that Willie Peters is working from at Hull KR. The difference is Peters now has money due to new owners. .I have big raps on this guy. Would love to see him here in our club system. Very likeable character but no bullshit either.

Was hoping he’d free up the needed spot on our roster for next year, but was only on a train and trial deal. Good luck to him in the super league.

This Knights player, Brock Greacen played for Knights over a few years, played strong and hard in Flegg, Cup and a game on bench for firsts is a local lad who gave it his best and any player of that calibre deserves recognition and a fond farewell

The Superleague is expanding to 14 sides next season. It is the first step in The NRL even considering taking creative control of the competition. Now the argument is there is not enough top level quality for this due mainly to the fact most SL clubs are struggling to stay afloat. Kids like Brock are wise in considering the jump.

Cos it’s the fringe FG players at our level who could really find a way to make a living over there. They also lift the depth of the clubs there. The SL is in dire need of NRL level coaching and structures. From the grass roots. Not just senior level.
It has long been run by over protective, selfish and in some instances, downright incompetent people. There are good English coaches, but the clubs are fundamentally way behind our junior level developmental KPIs. We have seen they have legitimate talent. It is just they come here to sink or swim. And failure for them, like Will and Bailey, just sets the competition back over there. What is needed is for them to be up to it and then return to impart the knowledge.
