Blaming the Ref Syndrome

I think the thing that winds me up, a coach can call the refs cheats and question their integrity. They’ll cop a fine that will probably sting a little, then they’ll win the penalty count the next few weeks. It essentially makes the fine an investment.

I think the need for a penalty count to supposedly be even is what the good teams will manipulate. The smart teams will give away 2-3 penalties in a row right before the break. It essentially pads the penalty count for them and has them suffer little consequence as the break is coming in a few tackles.

Watch this Dogs/Tigers game and tell me refs don’t try and manufacture results.

How does the final game sealing try off a blatantly forward pass fit in with manufacturing results?

It's human nature when you lose a tight one.

But there is no denying there have been big moments in games where refs have affected things.

It sucks but it's sport.

Blatant forward pass was missed, as was Kikaus knock on with a minute to go before halftime

Correct.
There is no manufactured results, there is no conspiracy theory.
It's just plain, boring, run the mill incompetence.

Im sure people (not specifically you, though maybe you?) will say the good teams get more of the "luck" on that incompetence and maybe that's true and maybe that's false but I've seen nothing to prove (or disprove) it...
My team's been good and my teams been bad the best i can say is when they're good they still get plenty of shit calls, they just don't matter as much because the team is good enough to generally overcome them*

So on that front ill say believe whatever is in your heart. Sure as shit im not gonna change your mind if you genuinely believe the refs are out to get your team

*of course there are occasions where an badly blown call changes the outcome of a game but imo, that's pretty rare.

The number of Smug fans trying to justify a blatant act of deliberate shit merkinry is pretty funny.

No one reasonable is saying the trainer cost the Titans the game. But no one reasonable is saying it wasn't a deliberate and blatant act of shithousery either

Right? Like if it wasn't deliberate which is super slim chance how can he be out there delivering instructions and medical attention if he doesn't even know where he's running?? Lol

It's not all Panthers fans but it's funny that some are.

Since there isn't really one topic for this - I don't know what the point of the suspension for the trainer is other than optics. So someone else has to run the water for 5 weeks? Oh no.

They really need to introduce the ability to deal with trainer interference on the field in the future.

Id be shocked if there isnt this off season
Its happened enough now that they're going to have to introduce some way for the referee to directly punish the side in game for it.

I seem to be in the Panther minority but the kick should have been instantly awarded or taken right in front.

I work with people that know the trainer and say he would not have done it on purpose, just not that sort of guy and I I have not reason to doubt them. The reason the punishment is harsh is repeated blunders by the riff trainers.
I do think think that the kick should have been retaken from in front.

I think the issue is there is probably no law to allow such a thing right now
Its one of those things that had never really happened so there was no reason to think about what should happen
But there have been a few instances now where trainers are doing this sort of shit, and not just panthers guys... so i reckon something like you're suggesting will come into play this off season (and then it will never be used again because all of this shit is deliberate, it's not an accident imo)

IMO it should be the kicker is allowed to reset and take his shot and then a penalty is awarded under the posts for a shot right in front and a potential 8 point try.
Treat it as foul play after the try is scored.
