2025 Match Review & Judiciary charges

So in the week that the NRL go on record saying how great it is that the Dogs are doing well and how much money theyll make from them hosting home finals, their captain escapes a high tackle charge for a shoulder clean to the head which knocked a bloke into next week. Nothing to see here.
It also flies in the face of the reason Wighton got suspended "yes it was an accident, yes it was a headclash, but Rudolf got knocked out cold, duty of care, etc"

Exactly, isnt it in the rules that they take injury into consideration when grading? May was slipping, absolutely, however Crichton went in shoulder first not looking, surely thats the definition of reckless?

What a joke that Crichton wasn’t charged. Put your money on the Dogs to make the GF
Some incredible logic this - surely we win the game if the NRL are trying to get us into the Grand Final?

Not to mention we're by far and away the most suspended side in the competition, and just ahead of Canberra for fines as well...

Crichton did pretty much exactly what Suaalii did in Origin. Difference is one player got sent off and 4 weeks suspension.

The other escaped any punishment at all.

That should have been minimum 2 weeks and a sin bin. A forceful shoulder directly to the head resulting in a category 1 HIA.
The match review committee must think the average NRL fan has the IQ of a pot plant.

I think Seyfarth was a worse hit and his record is much worse (rightly or wrongly in Crichton's case). But it's a 1-2 week tackle surely. MRC Bingo is almost as entertaining as Bunker Bingo these days

We play the Dogs this week so I would have loved Crichton to be suspended, but I think I can live with it.

Seyfarth’s was way worse

No issue with Seyfarths suspension and agree it was a worse hit. Hell I dont think I could have argued if he was sent.

Still think Crichton incredibly lucky, and if it was say Phil Sami he's facing a decent stint on the sideline.

FIFA and the IOC are jealous of how corrupt the NRL manages to be.

I think Crichton should have been sin binned and i think he should have been charged
I get there were mitigating circumstances but it was definitely moderate force and direct to the head, and we've seen sooo many instances where mitigating circumstances dont keep you safe from a sin bin or charge

that being said the charge doesnt bother me that much, it would have only been a grade 1, which would have been a fine anyways, so that's stupidly inconsistent but kind of who cares.

the failure to bin him was a real error though. But that's the NRL for you, sometimes it falls in your favour, others... not so much

James Tedesco collecting Lehi Hopoate with his knee was more accidental in my opinion, but he was charged with dangerous contact even if the result of the charge will be a fine. That, at a minimum would be a comparable incident. It's why Crichton getting no charge is galling to say the least.
