Ok I agree with being a penalty for being tackled in the air but why the penalty try, was it certain that Xavier was going to score that try? He could have been tackled?
Admittedly I was at the game so I only saw it through tipsy eyes on the big screen. I’d have been comfortable with no try but penalty.

As I understand it, the bunker inferred that if he wasn’t tackle mid air, he’d have scored legally without the need to promote the ball regardless. But again, if they overturned the try and gave us the penalty I wouldn’t have been mad.

What a strange game rugby league is. If you smash a bloke in the head whose in the motion of scoring a try it's only a penalty, but if you tackle a bloke 2m out mid air it's a penalty try.
Make it make sense you merkins.

I felt sorry for the Broncos bar Mam (f**k him) and Hunt (175th loss suck shit merkin). They were on a hiding to nothing and never were going to win it.
Storm's ball movement was impressive and I was surprised they didn't win by more. The Coates non-try early in the game would have been a contender for individual try of the season if he didn't go out.

Last week a Titans player got smashed in the head while attempting to score a try, no penalty try was given is it because the a Titans are coming last. As for Xavier he is great player to watch.

I'ts not a strange game, it's a game where we have far too much inconsistency regarding the video ref.

There's also too grey area and interpretation with alot of rules as it is, when things are that black and white they need to get it right.

Storm seemed clunky a bit, think the game woudl have been close or they could have lost if their halves didnt' go down

Crucial win for Melbourne. Sets up next week's game against the reigning premiers nicely.

Broncos can take quite a bit from that performance too. Resilient in defence. Losing both halves unfortunate but they have depth to cover it. Have to play Melbourne again but the other 3 games are winnable. Should still make the 8.

They do not have the depth to cover Reynolds and Ezra.

Sure Hunt can come in but he's not either of them, and who comes in for the other spot ?

Seasons done depending on how long they are both out for. Reynolds looks worse and does have a history off them.

It will have to be has-been Hunt and never-was Jock Madden in the halves.

Hunt would be the best back up half in the comp by a mile. 9 covered by Paix, Smoothy and Walters.

The Broncos squad is stacked.
