Pacific Championships 2025

At least we have dates! Final in Australia and no game in Christchurch makes no sense.
If there was a Kiwis vs. Roos game they might have played in CHCH.

But for Samoa and Tonga, def makes sense to stage in Akl if they want to maximise crowds.

Happy with 6pm NZT kick off, pretty family friendly esp during daylight savings.

Just a pity it wasn't a Sat evening. For many in the pacific communities, Sunday is considered sacred so there'll be many that don't attend for that reason; hopefully not too many though. Or they can just repent afterwards lol

Why does Auckland get 2 games? Ridiculous.
For those who might miss out, yea..,

For those trying to maximise crowd numbers / revenue... it makes sense.

What's interesting though is Eden Park for the Tonga game, while Samoa is scheduled for Mt Smart. I imagine a reflection of Tonga beating the Kiwis in their last game, as opposed to Samoa being spanked 0-50 in theirs.

But that Samoa team was very different to what they might run out with this year. As always much will depend on injuries etc.

South Africa Rhinos coach Darryl Fisher believes November’s World Cup qualifier against Cook Islands in Sydney could double as an opportunity for his players to impress for an NRL contract.

The Rhinos will take on the Aitu at CommBank Stadium on November 9 as part of a triple header with the men’s and women’s Pacific Cup finals for the 10th spot at the 2026 World Cup in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Thatll be great to see. Personally id be as interested in this game as i would the PC Final.

Hopefully the Rhinos are made up of actual South Africians and not a bunch of ex pats living in Australia.

The SARL FB page says Nine are broadcasting it but I doubt it. It’ll most certainly just be Men and Women’s PC Final.

In addition, the SARL FB page says half the squad will be half domestic and half ‘Australian based.’

That is fantastic after one day! And there is still three months to go!
I'm considering making the trip over from Akl for it, if it doesn't clash with my eldest boy's exams. I know quite a few others making plans too.

Having never been to a Suncorp game before, any suggestions on best seats etc. would be very welcome.
