Leaking 27 points per game after first 10 games. Attack is pretty much of the time but their D is D minus so why are we even here?

Sorry (not sorry).

Have had a weird year. Have looked totally dogshit and then pretty good suddenly. But making the 8 is always a box ticked. They have Eels, Storm and Rabbits left to go so they are quite likely to sneak in.

They just beat a top 4 opponent. And I rate the Dogs unlike most on here. The Roosters were just too good and brought an intensity the Bulldogs couldn't match.

Not sure they'll get through Penrith though.

According to my ladder predictor on the NRL website I've got the Roosters finishing at 7th, I believe we'll beat the Eels and Souths but will lose a close one to the Storm.

On that same predictor that'd put the Roosters against Penrith in week 1 of the finals, I think on our best day we could beat them but we'd go in as heavy underdogs. On the plus side though if we somehow beat Penrith we'd go onto play the Warriors which is very winnable and then the Raiders who we gave a scare to about a month or so ago with Walker out.

Would be cool to see an underdog Roosters in their "rebuild year" make it to the grand final but unfortunately I'm not sure we will overcome Melbourne or Penrith this year. Next year is a different story though.

I feel like we've seen this story in multiple seasons since they last won the comp.. they look out of it, go on a late season run, finish 7th or 8th, then run out of puff in the finals
I would argue that only happened in 2020 and to a lesser extent 2022.

Regardless, the key difference this season is the roster has now been completely recycled post 2018/19 and this is now a young team set up to climb the ladder further next season.

Any finals experience even if it's one and done would be invaluable for this squad.

I'd be happy with any club outside of the Roosters, Storm & Panthers winning the premiership. It's been 9 seasons of those three winning Grand Finals, time for a change.

Mate this isn't story time its real life.

Its Penrith's premiership to lose at this point. Anything else is a massive upset.

I don't think this is the same as those other seasons. After the losses of JWH, Keary, May, Sitilli, Suali'i and Manu in one off-season this team was widely picked to be flat out avoiding the bottom 4. It played out that way the first 6 weeks of the season but over the year the roster was re-generated with 8 debutants. The season was an overwhelming success even if tonight's performance was disappointing.

They are primed to improve next year. They won't start 1-4 nor will they have 50 put on them in round 1.
