Before the year is out I would like to see what the balance of the side looks like and how we actually play with KF @ 14.

If we are chasing a top quality 7 as implied by management then the question is Cook or KF at 14 because there is no way you could logically drop Liddle but then again we aren’t always that logical are we.

I can't see Flanno dropping Cook he seems to love him like a son.
I am curious to know what will happen for 2026.
Atkinson is a 6 however as we are in more need of a 7 my guess is pre season they will trial him at 7 and LKT at 6.
If it doesn't work out It wouldn't surprise me if Atkinson plays 6 and Kyle at 7.

That’s the very reason I’d like to see it this year because there are 2 things we don’t know

1) How will we go with KF as a bench hooker albeit he might start and then Liddle come on 25 minutes
2) What LKT offers as a playmaker without KF.

I would hate to see LKT being the sacrificial pawn for KF or Cook because I see a lot of untapped potential in LKT who has definitely improved as the season has gone on.

LKT is an exceptional talent (his long kicking game is average) I don't think the plan was for him to play as much FG as he did this year but obviously Illias didn't work out so I think in 2026 it'll be:

1. Gutho
6. Kyle Flannagan
7. Atkinson
9. Cook

14. Liddle

I'm guessing the plan then is for 2027 to be:

1. Gutho
6. LKT
7. Atkinson
9. Kyle Flannagan

14. Liddle.

I doubt cook goes a 3rd season with us and I'm pretty sure Shane Flannagan only see Liddle as an impact hooker.

Obviously this is all guessing on my behalf I just don't see Kyle's future in the halves he tries hard but he's simply not good enough.

I don't mind Liddle as an impact hooker, as long as he comes on before half time not 25-30 min to go.
I'm not sure if he plays 80min would he be as quick out of dummy half, he would also need to add a bit of a kicking game.

Interesting debate.
At present all 3 are on the field at some time during a game, especially in the second half.
The question is, has that been successful?

Do we persist with this next year, and in what form? If so, how do we get DA and LKT into the mix?

Love that Kyle's putting pressure on the kicker, far too often we let the halfback kick without pressure. Defence has been very good, kicking & running games are always going to be average but I think he's organising our attack in the oppo 20 very well. Suck shit anasta you dog cock.

Kyle's short kicking game isn't to bad but his long one is atrocious agreed Liddle needs more minutes he always looks so dangerous.

Well Hamish will play lock but will he play 80min. Do they carry Kyle on the bench to come on at lock.
The dogs do it with Kurt Mann, when they have Haywood or Mahoney on the bench also.

We have some depth for next year. Second rowers, Egan, SuA, R Couchman, Halangu, Luc. Lock is Stewart but backed up by Cook or Flanagan. Hooker Liddle number 1, then Cook and Flanagan

LKT and Atkinson will be in the contest for the five-eighth spot.
Reed and Flanagan will be in the contest for the halfback spot.
If Reed to halfback, Flanagan to 14.
If we recruit a halfback, may the best half win.

No position for kyle next season KT and Atkinson will be the combo.
After kyle having a full season has proved that if we had a Atkinson earlier would have won the close games this season and playing finals.

2. Lawson
3. Gutherson
4. Buchanan
5. CT
6. LKT
7. Glover
8. Klemmer
9.. Liddle

14. Flanagan
15. Toga
16. Fifita
17. Truck

It will be Atkinson and a marquee no 7 they are looking at Dragons and new Ceo also coach Flanagan has said.
Kyle is and will be a no 14 is not a starting Nrl player .
I would be chasing Metcalf from warrior's.

He was recruited as a 6. Either he, KF or LKT perhaps earmarked now for a 13 role
Hopefully Flanagan will play him at 6 , seeing footage of him in the Sharks jersey he appears quite comfortable in that position , directing traffic similar to their hooker Braden Bradley .

However we will discover what is in the coaches mind come season ‘26 .
