Sack Adam O'Brien

I feel like this thread needs to be parked for a few weeks until our season is officially over and then something might or might not happen. Reading posts where people attack each other personally isn’t why I come to this forum. It’s to have logical discussions about the sports team that I spend a huge amount of my time watching and thinking about lol.

I guess everyone in here has become very frustrated with how the team is playing and we’re all sort of disagreeing with each other over how much we want AOB sacked and how/when it should happen. But it at least seems like we’ve all basically settled on the idea that he should be sacked right?

Can we all try and be a little more logical and less nasty to each other in here? We’re all suffering enough from supporting this dog-shit team, we don’t need to be like this with one another too.

- Both put in effort plays constantly

- Gags is nearly always addressing the team in huddles

- Gags is team captain

The teams success (or lack of it) doesn't mean either of these blokes are poor leaders, its reductive to suggest so. The Knights had a spoon year in 2005 with both Joey and Bedsy in the side. Are you suggesting those 2 were poor leaders?
Surely Frizell chasing Drinkwater down the sideline and throwing him into touch when we were already well behind in the game counts as leadership doesn’t it? If that’s not leadership then what is?
This is exactly it. Both been great example setters. Some guys, to my eye, look like they follow the example - Croker, Cant, McEwen, all going about as well as we could reasonably expect.

To single guys out as not performing: Kai & Leo already mentally at their next club, Bradman & Greg have at times looked like they're saving their bodies for next year (probably smart tbh), and I always feel like J Saf is capable of more than he gives us, but maybe that's not fair. And then our spine guys look so mentally rattled, unsure, like they don't believe in what they're being asked to do.

Team wide - few guys push up in support, guys are slow and late on their decoy lines, everyone looks like they're playing to a set routine rather than playing the actual game. The idea that we blame Gags & Friz for that over AOB seems very silly to me.

So the absolute minimum we should expect from any of our players counts as leadership?

The last 6 weeks has shown they have next to no leadership qualities. They aren’t inspiring any of the players. Leo Thompson’s insipid performances for example…
You have some weird takes, but this right up there.

Now it's Gagai and Frizel's fault that Leo Thompson is playing like shit? The bloke is on the way out the door, and was never that great to start with.

Not sure if you are being deliberately obtuse, or just a bit of a dolt.

What’s the point of signing two guys who are past their best for their influence if they can’t actually influence the players? They aren’t actually doing what we signed them for. The players aren’t playing for them.

The chairman of the board of Wests said in the Telegraph today that AOB is a good coach and there is no appetite to get rid of him. This post is an absolute waste of time.

Again with the personal attacks. Well done, mate.

Why are you saying we are signing them for influence? Why are you saying they aren't influencing the players? Why are you saying nobody is playing for them?

You're not on the inside, you have no idea what goes on behind closed doors, and you're judging based on 80 minutes each week. In other words, you're making up shit, and hoping it doesn't stink.

If you really think those two are not adding any value to the team from a leadership point of view, then I don't know what to tell you. They wouldn't have been resigned at all if what you say is true. AOB/The chairman of the board of Wests would have made sure of that.

You can't have it both ways.

Still a couple of soldiers fighting the good fight god bless.

Anyway I have a bad feeling he's complete teflon but it'd be a nice boon if we ditched him for 2026.

“Some of it is experience on the big stage and fatigue. It’s not so much Tyson Frizell or this guy (Dane Gagai). It’s some of the younger guys coming up with the errors.” - Your mate.

It's incredible, he actually said that he thought we were great in the first half and close to being the better team...

What game was he watching?
I think he meant in the latter part of the first half where we had a bit more momentum. I didn’t take that to mean he thought we were better for the whole first half
