Any info on the location for the proposed athletes village and when ground improvements will start and if they are behind schedule
No, not really and I didn’t ask.
Reading the last couple of pages it would seem that a few forum members must think that PNG doesn’t already have foreign investment or that big businesses don’t exist there or a competently run organisation i.e. their national rugby league, isn’t there.
But the truth is all those three things exist prominently in PNG to varying degrees.
From what I could tell in my recent short visit there is that their national comp is well run all things considering and whilst it’s obviously not at a NSW Cup or Q Cup level it does resemble something of a Ron Massey cup or a BRL A-Grade.
Obviously foreign investment does exist in PNG and they do have their own big corporations over there.
We are not plonking a team in the middle of the jungle but the infrastructure does need a little bit of a touchup however it’s nowhere near as dire as the posters in here who have never been over there might think it is. Is 2 years enough? Touch and go.
