Other games 2025

Melbourne just confirmed their own weaknesses.

No Coates and Katoa and they are borderline clueless.

Way to many mistakes by Blore and Loiero, who are both overrated try hards. If they had to rely on that side all year, they wouldn't be a contender.

Storm will be fine. They did a Penrith and rested 6 players.

I'd also note they accounted for the Roosters easily in the first half. I thought the Roosters were quite good in the second half but Melbourne were playing for nothing really. The media fanfare over both squads I find bizzare.

Of course it does.

Just amazed anyone could have concerns that Melbourne aren't a threat in 2025.

And that somehow the Roosters are a premiership threat? They haven't even made the 8 yet? Bizzare.

It's a 2 horse race in Melbourne and us. Just what the neutral fans love to see.

I dont agree its a two horse race. I think Canberra are a huge threat..

But i do think to give ourselves the best shot we should rest everyone again this week.

Literally nothing to gain and just injuries suspension to risk..

They arent going to lose match fitness on two weeks at this time of year plus im sure ivan has been amping up the training.

We dont have the squad this year to win without key players. We need to keep our best 1-17 on the park for the rest of the year.

Marky Mark gives Roosters a chance, bizarre that a winger can have so much influence, but the guy is a dead set freak. I cant see them managing to go all the way, but if they have one of those days where everything comes off for them they can worry anyone.

Raiders also I think will get closer than most people think.

But if I were going to put money down then a repeat of last year is where it's at.

I'm most interested to watch the Sharks in the finals.

They are on the write off list. But the Sharks have been playing consistent finals footy for a while now. I do think that counts for something especially against the more inexperienced sides.

Iro is back this weekend and if he returns to his early 2025 form he will be a danger player. Shame that McInnes went down for them. I don't think Sharks go all the way but they have enough players to cause some trouble.

The Sharks have shown nothing all year to suggest they'll be any kind of serious threat in the semis.
As a fan I've waited all year to see them show what they can do, but they haven't fired a single shot.

True. He's been missed badly.

Shame that McInnes went down for them.

No, it's not.
He's a hindrance.
Offers nothing in attack, and is basically just a tackling machine who never dominates and gets easily rolled for a quick play the ball.

He also plays way too many minutes at the expense of others in the side, particularly Talakai, who can offer more.

I wish I held your optimism, but I don't see it.

The only thing giving me mild hope is that injuries/suspensions have forced the coaches hand in making changes which he should have made months ago.

Other than that, it'll be business as usual:
The back 5 taking the first 3 hit ups from dummy half, or one off the ruck, and unsupported.
A random edge/middle taking the 4th.
Kennedy taking the 5th.
Kick and chase.
Rinse and repeat.

It's been the game plan for 4 years now.
Our shit for brains coach doesn't have it in him to think of anything else.

You'd have talakai running in the middle over McInnes? Its his defence which will be missed.

Our team runs Mitch Kenny and McInnes is the closest guy I can think of to him. I think he will be a noticeable loss.

I meant Talakai gets used for ~20 minutes and McInnes ~60.
It should be an even split IMHO

Could do that. I think Talakai has a bit of Leniu about him. The more minutes he plays the less effective he is.

Anyway the narrative I'm promoting is that the Sharks are an experienced finals football team. Best case scenario for them would be a Parra 2022 performance. Good chance of that if they sneak into the top 4.

Problem is defence now McInnes is gone. He and Brailey have gotten through a stack of work this year.

So, are we wanting the Tigers to win this afternoon? If they do, they may influence both Canberra and Storm to rest fewer players next round.

I think so. Might upset their rhythm a little bit.

But they should really follow through and rest players next week. Chasing a minor premiership or a win to face a weaker side ain't the way.

And that is where we can target the Raiders.

Both edges but particularly their right side.

Well done to the raiders.

Dont like ricky but theyve been the best team all year..

They have a great young team and ive said a few times i get young penrith vibes from them. Plus their flegg and nsw cup sides look like they have lots of good juniors coming through.

The loss of fogarty is huge next year for them. For a avg hb hes been unreal for them this year so will be interesting to see how they cope next year.

They are the real deal this year though and any team will need to be at their best to beat them.
