As a centre?I guess we just have to sit back and see who becomes available.
For example if the titans wanted to make some cap space and Alexander brimson became available. I'd jump all over that
It's strange.
We all agree that ideally we need another middle and another edge but Moretti, Tuivati, DeBelin all need to fit into the middle and KK and possibly Latu will be pushing for an edge role. They won't all fit FFS.
As a centre?
Eww.
I'm not happy about this appointment tbh.
Bring on the tackle 3 grubbers from prop forwards...
I look forward to every season. We finally have something to look forward to next season. I haven't said that for some time.
Same...I look forward to every season.
I think that's around where i would mark him tbh as well2025 done and dusted - If we had to rate Ryles season ?
Shaky first half of the season, expected due to the complete change of systems and faces/ no Moses
Overhauled the roster basically, maybe a few more to go, but the bulk is done
Brought in JAC and Walker which were brilliant additions - we needed experience/leaders and they gave us that in buckets
A group of young and improving players, 3 of which are in the spine
Junior finding some old form, which was not existent couple seasons prior id look to lock him in for 2027-28 (reduced rate)
8/10 from me for Ryles, and I run that to the bank at the start of the year
If we snuck into the finals be a 11/10
If you want a comparison to who most are calling the next modern day super Coach - Ciraldo in first year in 2023
Dogs had 7 wins with a FA of -331 in his first season in charge.
We ended up with 10 wins and a FA of -76.

That wouldn’t explain why Bennett still went to Souths who are also in a rebuild phase.I’d say the reason we decided to change coaches was because club bosses wanted to rebuild. Could be why Bennett knocked us back as well.
So benchmark is more than 14 wins next year ?
Supercoach Ciraldo 14 his 2nd year (16 this year)

That’s an interesting take, and very possible.I’d say the reason we decided to change coaches was because club bosses wanted to rebuild. Could be why Bennett knocked us back as well.
Yep, I reckon that may have been what got Ryles the edge at interview. That’s an interesting take, and very possible.
Maybe Hannay said “I’ll bond them get them united and playing better” and we heard Ryles say something like “you are not setup for success at all and if I get the job I’ll blow the place up from juniors to staffing” and liked it.
I think that's around where i would mark him tbh as well
Did he underestimate the mess when he applied or he knew from the get go when he got the job i am cleaning house and gutting the joint and that's how it was presented to the board.
It obviously wasn't sold externally but internally it seems the whole club were aligned from the day Ryles signed on that this was the journey this year was going to take and be in for a year of short term pain getting green shoots & experience into kids.
Mostly everyone that you could classify as stale or deadwood has nearly been moved on for fresh/younger players.
Brought in leadership in Williams, Walker & JAC.
Priortised the youth in Smith, Iongi, Kautoga, Papali'i
And as Matty Johns said last night most of the players this year have improved from where they were in round 1 to now.
I don't rate Charlie Guymer but his name hasn't been mentioned on here in 4 weeks which must mean he had a decent month of footy.

Agree that his history played a role in him choosing Souths but he’s a poor judge of he thought they have less of a rebuild.Benny had a history with Souths so would be easier for him to go back and most likely thought they had less of a rebuild
That's only four more than we achieved this season. Very doable you'd think...So benchmark is more than 14 wins next year ?
