2025 Crowd Watch

Hm that's not a good look. Are tickets too expensive? AFL does $35 tickets for their finals including the GWS one, how much are the storm tickets? Would be a fail if it's anything less than 22k
I guess people are choosing to go to the second final in Melbourne but if they made these tickets cheaper it would really drive up the attendance. Why not price them at $35 like the afl do?
Plenty of $39 tickets left. Don’t think it is price. Last years finals Storm got great crowds (26k and 29k) but they we not on at the same time as AFL finals.

2023 they only got 19k v Roosters when on at same time as AFL.

Storm has 20k hardcore fans but the extras over that would likely also be AFL fans. If this week was 4pm Sat reckon it would get an extra 5k - 8k.

we are probably the only club that has more fans attend a regular season game than week 1 finals lol.
It is strange though, I don’t even think it’s our form. People just holding out for the home prelim I guess

Melbourne is an interesting one, I thought it would be a sellout by midweek. The same day, time & opponent combo sold out just a few weeks ago.

Had a look at the NRL era crowds on prelim final weekend. Smallest total was 55,260 in covid affected 2021. Biggest was 115,999 in 2010 for Dragons v Tigers at Accor and Titans (!) v Roosters at Suncorp. Depending on the results this weekend, we could test either of those limits this year.
Raiders would have to lose.

Raiders would have to lose.
And Dogs would have to win.

Dogs V Roosters could potentially happen and I reckon that would be the biggest crowd potential, but would need

Dogs to beat Melbourne
Then Roosters would have to beat the Sharks, then the loser of Raiders v Brisbane

I guess the injuries for both sides haven't helped with the hype. I'm disappointed, really thought this would be the year that Melbourne went on with it crowd wise and sold out both their finals quickly.

If the NRL had a brain they'd give the schools redemption codes like the last two Penrith prelim finals.

If it was Saturday night, plenty of Dogs fan would have flown down. But Friday game makes that hard.
This

Also - these two teams only played 3 weeks ago at the same venue. A repeat journey to Melbourne is likely difficult for a lot of Bulldogs fans - even diehards. Travel ain't cheap

Yeah 100% but in saying that the allocated 2 bays for Bulldog supporters is sold out while basically every other area isn't and I expect a little flow on of Bulldog supporters in other bays.

My comment was aimed more at Storm fans tbh, there should be enough to fill AAMI for a finals game.
I think the pricing is a factor. $109 for cat 1 makes you think twice, especially when there's another game coming in the next fortnight. NRL expecting another sellout and got greedy perhaps?

That is roughly what the titans are charging for regular season game tickets on the sides between the 20m lines......

Abdo saying they will have a review in the off season is hilarious when he realises how many other grounds this will apply too

Reacting to one rothfield article isn’t how the ceo should be acting

Building sites are always ugly till they are finished it’s amazing they’ve managed for so long

They tried kogarah and it didn’t work so if they won’t travel to the adjoining area why would they travel regularly to Allianz

If they are using 25k as the criteria then gong won’t count, nor will kogarah, Campbelltown, lo, Brookie and Canberra just scrapes in

The 25k rule for the first week of the finals is a good thing as it may force some of these dreg clubs like Cronulla to get serious.
