Joash At 6 has offered nothing. He looked better at 1 filling in for Ionghi.

Lorenzo hype I don’t get. Like Joash just a passenger at 6 from the games I’ve seen. Did nothing again today.
Have to disagree mate...Joash played a small number of games at 6 and did very well.
Excellent tackle efficiency, played only about 3 games with Moses and was doing all the things Ryles wanted of him.
From what I understand he has first bite of the cherry at 6.
Its his to lose

I think the kid knows that his biggest obstacle would be joash and probably knows he’ll have his measure in about 12 months and then his manager will re negotiate the deal …

he’ll be a regular in first grade by 27…
Is your tip that he’ll be our 6 in 27? That’s very exciting if it is having a home grown 6!!

You can say it about most of them, but Papalii was a good defender in NSW Cup this year, at both fullback and five-eighth.

Iongi wasn't as good last year (aged 21) as Papalii this year (aged 21) but he was better than Twidle (also 21). Yes Papalii's sample is quite small, but it was obviously big enough for Ryles to give him a shot at 6 in first grade:

Merkin (aged 21)Tackles at fullbackMissed tackles at fullbackTackle effectiveness
Papalii 202536784%
Iongi 20241033575%
Twidle 2025533958%

I am curious where is the stat where it says they put their body in front of merkins

I think our 6 will be an external player for next year but we'll be waiting a few weeks for it to be announced

We cant go into 26 with a halves depth chart behind moses of papalli, Hawkins, volkman, talatina etc.

Jonah Pezet for me, he can do an apprenticeship under moses and be his long term replacement.

Melbourne have him under contract to 2029.

Storm are being a bit cunning about it rumours are there happy to loan him out for a year then bring him back.

I would tell Storm to get stuffed either we have him permanent or not at all.

Unfortunately for the Storm, Pezet can invoke a clause in his contract to leave the Storm. Hughes' contract extension meant Pezet can now chase a regular starting first-grade spot at a rival team if he desires

You need to get BarTV Sports to see that. But if you're still waiting for your Woolworths dividends to come through, you can infer it from tackle effectiveness. The merkins who miss the most tackles are the ones who make a higher proportion of low percentage tackles, which is where the attacker is able to run at a shoulder. Think Walsh getting outside Fogarty yesterday. This is why fullbacks and edge defenders have a lower tackle effectiveness than middle defenders. They try to get their body in front (the first graders do anyway) but the nature of edge defence means they often have to readjust which attacker they need to tackle and don't have time to get their body in front. Middle defenders usually don't have to defend the same amount of space so it's easier to get their body in front and set their feet.
