You’re just explaining the reason he’s too good for reserve grade. You’re not disproving it. If Arthur had come through ten years ago, his lack of speed wouldn’t be a problem. Plenty of slow halves played back then. Chad Townsend even won a premiership.
He has never consistently dominated in reserves and neither has his brother, so how can he be too good?

He sure has. 69 try assists in 64 games.

As for Matt Arthur, he is still eligible for Flegg next year. Just the fact he can hold his own in reserve grade at his age is a sign of quality.

That's an award for players who play too much reserve grade, like 28 year old Kalani Going. Maybe if the UK doesn't work out, Jake Arthur can come back to Australia and win NSW Cup Player of the Year. You'd like that.

Have you watched Jake play ? He's not even Ron Massey cup level and he only played first grade because of his name and at the knights because dad was best mates with obrien

If he was Ron Massey Cup level he wouldn't have played so well in reserve grade. Then he wouldn't have played any first grade or picked up a foreign player slot in the UK. Ron Massey Cup is for players too old for Flegg but not ready to retire. They don't get pro contracts in Australia or the UK. They have day jobs instead.

No, you’d like that so you can continue polishing Jake. You wouldn’t even need to take a breath. You may even develop gills.

Let's agree to disagree , he has the slowest passing game I've ever seen from a halfback , appears very much a deer in the headlights player , to his credit he tries hard and according to other sites is a great trainer and probably picks up the cones after training but he's not a first grade player and never will be

He might never be a first grader but he is far above RM Cup level. Beau Newlands is someone who is Ron Massey Cup level; a backup for the NSW Cup team.
