What do you mean “A few soft merkin fans making us look pathetic”?

I’ve supported this club since I was knee-high to a f*cken grasshopper.

Back then, a premiership once every decade was f*cken over-joyously delirious! Let alone five consecutive Grand Final appearances resulting in 4 consecutive premierships recently.

I’m even thinking of Parra fans here who’s club has won sweet f*ck all in almost the last 40 f*cken years, yet their fan base and their travel attendances to away games is stronger than ours is, which is f*cken shameful, given our recent success!

Be gracious in defeat. We were beaten fair and square today by a club with more hunger to hold the Arthur Summons and Norm Provan Trophy high on GF night than we were.

As a club, We’ve accomplished more in the last five years than any other club in the salary-cap era ever has, moreover in reality, no other club probably ever will replicate. As a Penrith Supporter, I’m proud of that accomplishment.

If you aren’t proud of that, it’s seriously time to start investing in other NRL clubs? Or alternative footy codes?

Lotsaluck with that one…

Like I said, would happily swap positions tbh. Especially with the road map I can see laid out before your club man.

A preliminary final after our start to the year was really f**king cool to see and a perfectly acceptable title defence.
We will be MASSIVE favourites to win 2026 with no major player losses for the first time in years.

The streak is over but this side will win a few more in the next 5 years.

Who do Brisbane and Melbourne lose in 2026? Raiders are a good chance to be better for their experience, only question mark there is halfback. You'd think Bulldogs may well improve as well. Roosters with a fit Sam Walker and a young squad with more experience and a full pre-season will be very dangerous.

Sharks will probably be similar to what they were this year but I wouldn't discount them.

And then there is always a team or two that are surprise packets. Dolphins could do some real damage for instance with a healthy squad.

My Point is, 2026 is going to be the most closely contested year this decade. I would take nothing for granted.

Did you quote the right post? You both said the same thing in different ways. The soft merkin fans are the ones having a hissy fit because we lost.

5 Straight GFs with 4 wins, I'll take that shit to the grave with a smile. Went down to a bloody good team in a prelim to end the streak, no shame in that at all.

We have come a long way from a good season being in mathematical contention for finals 3 rounds before the regular season ends.

Can't believe we have a few fans saying they won't watch the GF. My 4 and 7 year olds took the loss with more grace

Having just seen a key stat out of yesterday I can understand why Penrith supporters have been critical of having Brad Schneider on the interchange bench. In yesterday's game, which was physically intense, he played a grand total of 6 minutes o_O

6 MINUTES!!! That is bloody pathetic Ivan. It just heaped a greater workload on the other 16 players by doing that. Bad decision in my opinion.

Yeah hes been bad with the bench for years. 6mins for Brad when we lost Sorro for the game a few minutes in. We then die in the arse in the final 20mins.
Stupid stuff really

Most of us have been whining about this for ages now. Ivan is clearly a great coach, but his bench choices are f**king weird. Even a plodder like Huth could have been the difference yesterday. Swings and roundabouts I suppose, Cogger in 23 worked out ok, bit different though given Luai's shoulder was a time bomb.

Congrats Brisbane on making another GF. The third one since 2015, and maybe a third time lucky. I feel as though they are favourites against the Storm. Had to comeback twice in the last two games. And with the Broncos, there is a sense of momentum and unpredictability, especially around Walsh. So it may be the same result as in 2006.

Also congrats to Penrith. The streak had to come to end. We may never see four in a row again in our lifetime. They lost Luai and JFH from last year, and after 12 rounds, Panthers were coming last. Along with no home ground, they somehow made it to a prelim. A game they should've won, but Ivan didn't use his bench adequately. But they will be back. Panthers made jersey flegg GF, and are not losing any key players.

Ah, yep. My bad. After re-reading @Chins post, I realised I misinterpreted it. Soz Chins.

This might be my favourite bit of salt. Penrith’s last 5 years has been built on the back of tinny tries. Passes hitting the ground or a kick deflecting off legs etc.

Good to get a taste of your own medicine for once.

Glad to see even our humbling hasn't stopped your bitter emo feelings towards us and long may it continue sweetheart.

Insurance. We lose Sorensen after 2 minutes but it could have been Cleary or Kenny. But yes, Patea would have been nice to have during that second half. Would be great to have a genuine utility but they are like hens teeth.
