Don’t forget afl origin will be on next year and they want to hold a game in America

Being second best/a follower just isn’t something they are used to
Remember when they played games in New Zealand and China and no one cared apart from Victorian expats.
Do they even have ovals in the US?
Highly unlikely. They'd be better off trying to crack the market in India rather than the USA at least there's an abundance of ovals in India.

Yep, anywhere Cricket is played, they should have a crack. They might find a nation that takes to it. They won't, cause they're scaredy cats. Southeast Asian countries mostly play Cricket to a degree. Stop wasting money on stupid in Aus where it does not work outside heartlands and be happy with what you have carved out. RL has its place here and won't take over AFL in their heartland and the reverse is true.

Be bold, if the game means that much to them, show it off and be proud. I'd lmao if they took a game or 2 somewhere and it exploded. I'd give them a thumbs up. They have had it too easy forever and done nothing about real expansion.

The money they have had for decades, what a waste.

Afghanistan plays cricket I believe. Imagine a game of AFL with the Taliban watching & the sound of gunfire in the background. Theatre at its best.
Imagine if they watched men in tight shorts and singlets? They'll probably go what is this nonsense 🙄

I heard an FLA official say that the ovals in India aren’t big enough for an FLA oval to be placed on them on a podcast I was listening too once.

A lot of talk about a river in Egypt among our friends at Bigfooty. Wookie being attacked for suggesting that 1. Reach is crap 2. NRL has slaughtered AFL this year

Poor Wookie takes a beating on both sidea of this fanboy war.

Tough to be the messenger apparently.

I'm also not convinced that big prelim growth means big GF growth.

Feels like some of the pool of people who watch the big rugby league games (Origin, GF) were hyped enough to tune in a week earlier. Doesn't necessarily mean the pool has grown by a large amount.

This Sunday could be flat and it it's still been a fantastic finals result.
It certainly doesn't guarantee it but you'd have to think at least some growth is likely. I think it would be odd for the finals to have a massive 32% increase in viewership only for the GF to remain stagnant. We've seen a solid increase for regular season ratings, we saw a decent increase in SOO ratings and we've seen a huge increase in finals ratings. That's pointing towards likely growth in the GF as well.

Time will tell though.

I’ll never understand posters on this site keeping track of what’s happening on another sports forum
Yeah agree, I`ve never been within a country mile of big footy, the thought makes my skin crawl.
In fact, I`ve been pissed off this year that on The Australian`s on-line version of their paper I`ve had to scroll past fumbles news to get to the NRL, very rarely if there is a headline with bad news for the fumbles I`ll read it, or an article where a cheap dig is called for in the comments section, other than that, sail on by.
Thankfully the SMH has the fumbles section dead last after everything including the soccer LOL, that shows where fumbles ranks in readers minds (and clicks) and where it rightfully belongs.

Ill be trying to withdraw from all my forum activities from the end of this year, including Bigfooty and LU. Im just over it all. Twitter is enough for me, and I dont get enough shit done.
We`ll be all the poorer without you mate, trust me. Hopefully you might feel differently after a break, it`s a long season and you obviously do a lot of work.

I hope you don't. You'll be missed by the majority of posters on here.
If you do, I don't really blame you.
All you do is post ratings, supplied by official sources. (You don't always get them correct, but you're man enough to own up to mistakes). That says a lot about your character.
If not for a few f**kwits on this forum, and obviously over at BF, I'd hope you'd feel differently.

Also, I have always admired how patient you have been with said f**kwits. You always stick to the facts and reply politely. That approach is to be highly commended and says far more about you than those that challenge you, often rudely and with abuse and name calling.
I'm often embarrassed to be a RL fan when I read some of the shite directed towards you.
