I think all this r360 stuff is clickbait journalism by telegraph journos. Why is it not news anywhere else in the world, like in countries where rugby is popular?

Nrl agents would be leaking stories to media cause it’s great for their business

where is that ? Those countries sports media are probably reporting about their biggest sport - soccer… this story might not be getting the clicks like it seems to be the case here

Vlandis should get together his most influential men (including Albo) and talk to these rich R360 dudes and see if they can ditch the idea and invest in the NRL instead.

Please, shut up.
Are you seriously suggesting that they start up a rebel RL comp and tear apart the NRL?
These people are not interested in just an Aussie based RL competition.
Honestly, you come up with the most stupid shite ideas.

Which is why our journo's should stop reporting on it and whipping this into a frenzy here.

Personally ..I don’t need to read it …because it’s the same story and names again and again …but it must get the clicks here on NRL related media… I don’t think for example Union in the UK is as closely reported in the media… because the interest is not as intense compared with the NRL interest here

They get ‘looked after’ by the agents though - both financially and for news stories, so they’re always going to do the dirty work for agents.

I’m not advocating a lifetime ban for anyone who goes to R360, but we should have a set period - if you leave the NRL for another sport (not super league as that’s still RL), then you can’t come back to the NRL for a set period of say 3 years - that will act as a deterrent, as players will only go if they’re absolutely determined to make a fist of it in Union, because what is likely to happen, Lomax for instance will go across to R360 for 1 season, get paid a motza, and then be back in the NRL halfway through the following season. Players could use R360 (or Japanese rugby or whatever) as a nice little earner in between contracts, and will start to use that as a negotiation tool.
It’s not weak to put deterrents in place, it’s common sense.
Totally different world, but my work employment contract prohibits me from being able to work for any of my current employers competitors for a minimum of 12-months. I work in quite a niche element of the energy industry, so in reality, if I want another job paying the same or more than what I earn now, I’d need to move to a competitor, but I can’t, not for 12-months. That’s really shit, but it was the only option I had if I wanted the job and salary I have now. The NRL should follow similar suit. They’re in charge of registering contracts, for me
it’s simple, if you leave the NRL (even at contract end), a new NRL contract cannot be lodged for 3 years. Will absolutely discourage players from taking the punt if they know they’ve not got a fast and easy route back.

My company tried to impose that on me, for a financial benefit, I told them to get stuffed! They backed down as didnt want to lose me.

Didn’t we spend 100 years deriding union for imposing life bans on players swapping codes? Now you think us doing the same is a good thing?
Yes, I'm happy with banning players that actively promote a rival code. Managers that are shopping players that are under contract need to be deregistered

There’s been a R360 in the English press nearly every day recently.

Didn’t hurt them one bit doing it

Neither did banning league in France

But yeh let’s take the moral high ground that will protect the game

I reckon lawyers would have a field day if the NRL tried to blacklist a player trying to return to rugby league if they have not broken any contract when they moved between codes.

Agreed if they are under contract, but if not it would be very hypocritical of us to now be wanting to ban code swappers after slating union for doing it in years gone by.

“SHOOSH
The mail is getting much stronger that Blues Origin forward Angus Crichton will be the next major target of R360. The timing is perfect as he is off contract at the Roosters next year. Crichton will be named this week as part of the Australian squad for the Kangaroo tour.”

The Saudi Pro League who Ronaldo plays in hasn't had any impacted on the English Premiership and below.
Difference is the top players in the big soccer leagues are on huge wages already and going to the lower standard league in Saudi almost guaranteed they would lose their national team place. Some have gone to Saudi for even more money but the drawback is you have to live in Saudi and also you have to stay for 3 years (?) for the money is tax free.

Ronaldo was already worth something ridiculous and was happy to take the ridiculous money they offered him.

I will be shocked if the NRL is impacted to any degree.
