Because for all intents and purposes, most fans are just watching "green vs yellow", it's just there for the jollies.

HK 7's worked in the day because it was either expats, affordable enough to fly from Sydney or London and the players weren't getting paid much.

Now, take away most of the running, and replace it with scrums and clearing kicks to touch with 15 men in the field... And have it 4 games back to back, like a magic weekend...

In Miami, Boston, Lisbon, Madrid and Dubai... 😂
Imagine having to watch 2 games of this crap in a row, let alone 4.

Yep...... likely to turn anyone who hasn't watched Rugby of any form before for life. This is potentially the biggest cause of damage from this little undertaking to the NRL. Still the potentials there for us to scoop up some Springboks/ All Black's when it all turns to shit.

Brent read saying nrl could consider lifetime bans for players? and agents (doesn’t say if it’s anyone associated with it or just people who break contracts)

Also says many more players will now look to r360 now it’s happening

R360 pays agents wages

Stupid rich people with stupid ideas.

For a fraction of what they are planning on doing, they could set up a Pro League comp in France ready to go and a Pro Union comp in Australia ready to go at the same time. Both countries struggle with their club comps esp France in League, but it's all there ready to go. Naa, stuff putting any money into anything with actual roots, let's just join a circus

I get players/agents that break a contract to go to R360 or anywhere else should face some penalty, but not sure if someone whose contract has finished going to R360 being banned from returning to league. While not exactly the same but if you left your current employer when your contract expired (or had no contract), went to a better paying job, should you be banned from returning to your former employer? Not sure it would stand up in court especially if you haven't broken any contract or law

I assume the money people are looking at it from a global perspective rather than a country. Whether it becomes a success or not we will just have to wait and see.

There was a report a few weeks back saying the backers of this didn't want legal issues by signing players that are already contracted

The NRL banning agents probably isn’t he way to address this …the players would still be approached…

Been a lot of media about this but it’s the same names floating around…it’s not a mass exodus at this stage …the NRL needs to see now what actually happens and act accordingly …losing half a dozen players isn’t great but won’t have much of an impact and I don’t think they need to be changing what they do too much if that’s the extent of the disruption…

I am sure a few league players will go across if offered a contract that potentially doubles or triples or even more their current wage that will help to set them up in life better (can't blame them) i don't think the people behind R360 are going to pillage NRL clubs for league players to play union, it just doesn't make sense if that is their strategy. You would think they are after high profile union players and the odd league player that may have played union at school or as a junior.

They’d be more likely to target the NRL for players if they were going to set up a franchise in Australia. Getting NRL players across is what would capture attention in Australia for an Australian-based franchise.

As there’s no Australian-based franchise, which is bizarre in itself, as we’re one of a few small handful of countries to have ever taken a serious interest in Union, the NRL likely won’t be targeted to the same degree.

If they had half a brain they would target halves

For some weird reason they only focus on outside backs

Even Sammy b ended up being a centre

Cleary would walk a game like union

R360 is going to be massive!
Imagine the tribalism, the rivalry!
Sure, Rugby Union is a little slow and can be boring but all that goes to another level when it's a bunch of random dudes, wearing random kit representing nobody in a random city.. simply because they pay the most.
You can't miss that! Imagine the passion!

I absolutely hate the idea of lifetime bans- playing in this abortion is punishment enough! These players will become ineffective after time there, there profile will be worth far less, fitness, speed and endurance will be lost along with any relevance they had.. they can return but their value along with their integrity will be significantly less.

Super Rugby has struggled to get the same passion and tribalism that NRL has and after a large chunk of their " talent" leaves for a pay packet.. that struggle goes to another level.

R360 in a sporting sense will be meaningless. Eight plastic franchise teams traveling to well known Rugby cities like Madrid, Boston, Miami, Lisbon. Looks like it will be backed until 2028 and see how it goes. More like a bunch of investors who are hoping to sell a franchise down the track to make a profit.

A better alternative is for World Rugby to set up an annual club world cup, where champions and runners from Super Rugby, Premiership, Top 14 and ARC take part in an eight team tournament.

One thing PVL needs to do is allow a marquee player outside of the cap for each club. If a player war is coming and R360 get a dozen NRL players which then filter into the Wallabies team, it suddenly gives them a way back that they don't have at the moment.

A marquee player allowance at least gives clubs some ability to fight the big money offers on some sort of equal footing and not allow the ARU to rebuild the Wallabies on the back of the NRL.
The players supposedly leaving won't make a dint in NRL support or talent. We'll have new stars the instant they leave.
Why reach into our pocket for something that doesn't pose any threat whatsoever to our product?

Rugby Union are about to spend a bunch of cash to hurt their own product... Let's not get in the way.

They definitely should ban the agents for life, but let the players come back. Otherwise it would be hypocritical if the NRL were to allow ex springbok/all black players to sign contracts and not allowing ex NRL players to return. I really think this could end up benefiting the NRL in the medium to longer term.
