I’m sure they do , in a city of 5-6m but to suggest they have 1.3m ? Anyway I’ve always thought the difference between a fan and a supporter is that the supporters will go to games and invest in their team with memberships and merchandise
Roy Morgan counts any person with a passing interest as fan lol. its the biggest bs poll I’ve ever seen!

No Foxtel does its own ratings through Kantar, which uses return path data technology.

FTA ratings are suvey based, aggregated tv ratings and aggregated crowds are not what the Roy Morgan survey data is for.

For instance, its possible its the same number of people going to more matches that affect aggregate crowds, and the same number of people watching more tv. It IS possible to get to this conclusion from the available data in both surveys.
It is contradictory that every metric in the code has risen and yet apparently one phone poll, done purely to garner publicity for RM during nrl & afl finals, determines an apparent 11% drop in the number of people who have watched a sec of a game on tv. We literally just had a record audience for a PF of more than 2.7m including the most watched broadcast in Foxtel history and yet less people have apparently been exposed to the game on tv... It is highly unlikely that both can be true.

He’s previously admitted his bias towards the AFL though.

ive admitted that Im a lifelong Carlton supporter. If its not a Carlton game, I generally dont watch. Havent seen an AFL Grand Final in years lol.

That has not changed the data i put out for all codes. Not just the AFL or NRL. I dont create the data. I dont do the surveys. I just report them. People have an inordinate fondess for shooting the messenger.

Yap yap yap. You could type underwater I’m sure. I’m referring to your tweets along the lines of - I've never denied (or hidden) my biases.

Or have those posts been deleted?

Game 2 pulled in 893,000 viewers – easily the best rating on FTA since COVID for a Wallabies test, and the third one this year to pass 800k.

Rugby Union Tests this year on Nine have an aggregated audience of 3.939m at an average of 656,000 per match. (3.458m at 691k for AU hosted matches)

Massive number for bledisloe

Sure a lot of league fans watched it with nothing else on

Would make them think about taking the sport into summer to get some clear air and not having to compete with the big football codes

Which would allow players in the northern hemisphere to come and play in their off season and improve the standard

893k is impressive for Union standards but considering the Bledisloe is a marquee event, not that impressive in the context of SOO, Finals and GF ratings.

Good ratings but not 100million in 132 countries.

Unless it’s a very close game I really don’t see the NRLGF beating that AFL number, I think we will land around 3.7-3.8m.
