Executing when the game is tight or you’re playing from behind with not much time is literally pressure.
Only if you convince yourself it is. In reality you are attempting those plays because you have to. I mean what else are you going to do? Keep kicking to the corners? A two point field goal attempt is just a process. Whether you score depends on how much you've practiced before the game, and how much time/space you've got in the moment. The latter is the pressure component, because it depends how well your team mates have set you up and how well the defence is trying to stop you. The clock and the scoreboard only matter if you think they matter. The main thing is the relative success of everyone else on the field. This is why Cleary executes well for Penrith (a great team against lesser opposition) and not so well for NSW (against evenly matched opposition).

There’s a reason they call him the ice man. If it’s as simple as just undergoing the process and context doesn’t matter then why was Moses called a downhill skier?

Some really great college football charge down plays this morning. Its the same over there. Charge downs are about the most exciting play in the game. In RL the most exciting plays are tries from interceptions (which still need a great name like pick6 by the way - I've been trying to think of one for years) and charge downs.
We need to meddle with the rules to increase the number of interceptions and charge downs.

But is he under pressure? The opposition defence is always out on their feet because Penrith dominate possession.

The biggest question should be. If Moses was coached under Ivan and Nathan was coached under BA who would be the better player? There is no doubt Cleary is superior now. I put it down to coaching but. Moses has had useless coaches.

Tedesco was a regular Origin player under the same early coaching as Moses. Hayne starred in Origin and won Dally M medals under a string of lemons. Player development is up to the player. These are adults ffs. Penrith brought Ivan Cleary back to the club to keep his son there, not the other way around.
