“is masthead can reveal Munster is on rugby’s radar with the Storm champion also in the sights of R360 bosses in a bombshell development following Melbourne’s grand final loss to Brisbane on Sunday night.
The R360 revolution is targeting 10 NRL players, including Munster’s teammate Ryan Papenhuyzen, Payne Haas and Zac Lomax, and now the Queensland Origin skipper is on their hit list.
The rival code is eyeing off Munster on dual fronts.
It is understood the Storm playmaker fielded preliminary interest from a third-party associate with Australian rugby links in the lead-up to the NRL grand final.
No formal offer was made, but the secret approach to Munster’s camp has given the Origin and Test ace another career option.

Munster is off-contract with the Storm at the end of 2027 but Melbourne have confirmed they are open to an early release if the 31-year-old wants to seek a new challenge elsewhere.
The Perth Bears have identified Munster as a marquee signing for their entry in 2027 – and now R360 has emerged as another potential threat.
Munster is intrigued by the proposed rebel breakaway competition and is open to hearing from R360 bosses. The two-time premiership playmaker is happy at the Storm, but Melbourne face major salary-cap pressures to keep him beyond his current deal.
Contacted on Monday, Munster’s manager Anasta declined to comment on Rugby Australia links but addressed speculation R360 is circling his client, who has also been linked with new NRL franchise Perth.
“We haven’t been formally contacted by R360 but we have heard murmurs. Yes, there could be some interest in him,” Anasta said.
Peter V’landys gave his blunt thoughts on the R360 competition.
“Right now, Cameron is open to the Perth Bears.
“I know the Perth Bears are interested in him. They are open to signing him.
“Cameron hasn’t said I want to go to Perth, but the Storm are planning ahead and by the time he is off-contract again, they might not be able to afford him.”
Rugby Australia were successful in snaring Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii from the Roosters to bolster Australia’s 2027 World Cup campaign.
Former RA chairman Hamish McLennan confirmed to this masthead last year that he was contacted by an intermediary saying six NRL players were interested in defecting to play for the Wallabies, including Penrith maestro Nathan Cleary.
Munster could earn more in Australian rugby and has the skill set to succeed in the 15-a-side code.

Munster is on around $1.15 million this season at the Storm and won’t be accepting another pay cut after previously knocking back a massive $6 million, four-year deal to be the Dolphins’ marquee recruit in 2023.
The premiership playmaker was on the verge of quitting Melbourne at the end of 2022, only for the Storm to stave off Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins at the eleventh hour.
In August, Anasta said the Maroons pivot could play on until his mid-30s.
“Cameron didn’t go to the Dolphins and he took hundreds of thousands of dollars less, so he has done this before and stayed loyal,” Anasta said.
“That’s worth noting, because you can only take less for so long.
“Cameron would be worth a lot more on the open market, so it’s a decision we will look at down the track.
“It would be a big move to Perth, but if you look at all the other halves in the comp, you look at ‘DCE’ (Daly Cherry-Evans, aged 36) and ‘Reyno’ (Adam Reynolds, 35), those guys at their age, they are thriving and still demanding high dollars.
“I can’t see Cameron going backwards over the next few years.
“Cameron’s priority is to stay but even when he comes off contract, he still has a long way to go in his career.
“I can understand if or why Perth are interested in Cameron to be the face of the new franchise.
“He has come a long way, not only on the field but off it.
“He has captained Queensland and other players w
