Is Lomax definitely gone?
Not yet.
Is Lomax definitely gone?
I think its heading that way behind the scenes. Is Lomax definitely gone?
That's disappointing.I think its heading that way behind the scenes.
And i have a sense Zac will be saying the word Konnichiwa a lot by February.
It’s fine. I just toured the CoE and all his stuff is still in his locker. There’s even two pairs of boots, nearly $500 worth. He’s not going to walk away from that.If Lomax does leave we are again very thin out wide. I don’t rate the second tier coming through at all.
Of topic, but to your assertion a few days ago that you create conversation/content (cannot recall exact terminology) on here, I agree with this, but I would note that, unless I am mistaken you do not have a good resume with regard to starting new threads. We need better thread ideas. Mine generally get laughed out of business but some of them have been very good indeed. This is where you could lift your game. It’s fine. The gang tackling up around the football (thus near head) is a result of the 10m rule. There are several great options that do away with the 10m rule. NRL should trial these in a 9s version of the game. They also have an option to introduce a means of not tackling anywhere the head, thus reducing future CTE issues, etc.
If they nail that and can survive 2 or 3 generations, they'd likely become the dominant 'rugby' code.
Its going to be a shit time to be rebuilding.
I reckon the clubs like Knights & Dragons are going to really struggle if they have another poor year next year.
I get the sense we may timed it well enough that in 2027 & 2028 when the comp is a bit weaker with more expansion we should have our spine locked in and close to 80-100 games under there belts with Moses.
Ryles is also building a core group of youngsters who want to be there and at the club.
I think our window is 2027-2029 if we land Pezet.

I don’t think I’m hoping for anything less than a wild ride in 2026. I have a feeling we might jag a couple signings, let’s hope we do as we are horribly light in the backs once Lomax presumably goes. This considering our “NRL” players are people like Penisini and Russell. I like Russell but we hardky have much depth. If Ponga plays 16 + games I think they'll play finals. I rate him that highly. It isn't a horrible squad.
Agree we need to have the right squad for 2027-2029 and jag one while Moses is still elite. Who knows. If we land 2 gems 2026 might even be a wild ride.
He’s got plenty left to offer so here’s hoping.Facebook is at it again, claiming we've signed the Fox to a long-term deal.

He’s wearing a 2 year old polo. Unless it’s a known media source just don’t click on it mate.Facebook is at it again, claiming we've signed the Fox to a long-term deal.
maybe we should offer him 3 pairs of boots

Lomax is becoming the fly in the ointment, imo. At the time I thought he was an excellent signing for the Eels, but now I'm not so convinced. On one hand his goal kicking is sporadic, likewise with the bomb play on the 6th. On the other hand he's always played with maximum effort and ha never shirked from having a dig. Body language tells a mixed story.R360 isn't even 100% off the ground yet.
Reading up on it they seem to think they have 200 players that have agreed to sign on (Assuming Lomax sits in this category) along with backing from a Investment Firm based in Dubai for 3x seasons.
There is still a lot of other variables though that are being worked through, scheduling is a big one but the main issue they will have is most of the big dog Union Country organisations are viewing it as a Rebel League (even though R360 have been selling it that they will be working with these World Rugby. Last week they just agreed that any players who sign up will be banned to play for their countries internationally.
With the World Cup being in 2027 I'm sure this would have scared off at least a decent proportion of the players they believed to have on board. Obviously this doesn't effect Lomax or any NRL players but if they don't have enough players generally then the comp itself would be in jeopardy.
I think the longer it drags on more players will pull out just with the overall uncertainty around it. For someone in Lomax's shoes realistically he would need to know exactly what is happening by early 2026 I would imagine... Assumedly Parra will put the pressure on him and his management to make a call also because it holds us up from making any moves in the interim.
Lomax comes across as a bit of a screw loose and pretty easy to see why dragons weren't concerned he moved on , probably best if we do as well and get someone who might not have his ability but buys into his ryles philosophy, his body language as the season progressesd was that of someone who had his mind elsewhereLomax is becoming the fly in the ointment, imo. For me, he's now coming across as a gun for hire from what I see online. Good luck to him if he finds greener grass elsewhere. Just get it done if that is the case so we can all move on.
