I’ve already said that it’s sad to lose Cody but imagine the outrage on here if for instance we’d signed him & the roosters or someone else snuck under our guard & signed young Burton instead. I don’t know anything about Ollie but plenty on here rave about him.

I am not worried about losing him he was never going to take us to the next level plus he will struggle making that Roosters side.

It's not so much his playing first grade that is valuable. He could teach the young players about a will to succeed and not to cut corners. It's his aditude is that is worth keeping.

Exactly which is why we are told significant change will not happen until 2027 when a number of players not considered up to NRL FG standard will be moved on. Let’s see what happens after 1 Nov but 2026 may still be a painful one again unfortunately.

Attracting players is harder when other teams are able to organise third party deals. I would say that the same teams are also able to make it advantages for a player to leave as well. I think it works both ways. If I was at a team & they asked me to leave before my contract is up I would tell them to get stuffed, unless there it was in my interest. Either a contract elsewhere or another incentive.

honestly we need to just sign NAS, give the guy a 2 year deal with a club option for a 3rd year, thatll take him to 32. I honestly think hes worth getting, I dont see why we dont pick him up, it was reported in april of 2024 that he was someone the dragons wanted so I dont see why we dont get him now. I know that was a long time ago but seriously hes a great player and I think would be a perfect Lock for us.

This club seems to have the inability to close a deal ontop of being such an undesirable club for players to join

Honestly very baffled at what their plan is for 2026 as the acquisitions of Kerr and Atkinson have a lot to be desired on a roster that finished third last

Only hope is the young forwards keep kicking on and getting better but I’m pretty worried about 2026

And I have no faith in Flanagan or our recruitment for 2027 as it always seems like they hype it up just to let us down

I think the club already said they're not interested in NAS or Pezet and I can't see us competing with Japan Rugby should they make the rumoured offer.
