He might’ve already signed with the Broncos for 2027 and just wanted a one year deal for next season. Why not bring him in for a year if he’s better than what we’ve got?

I don’t mind the idea of a loan player if it’s a fringe outside back or forward for depth for a season to help out but not for a spine player, this makes zero sense.

We are just going to be in the exact same position in 12 months time.

However flipside if this deal is for like 300-400k a year and makes us an immediately better side and potentially gets us a top 4 season. Would people still be mad? Personally id just rather give joash, volkman or lorenzo a chance and use the money elsehwere but hey if we end up having a great season with pezet its not the worst thing and seemingly moses only has so many great years left. If we ger metcalf for 2027 that would be exciting minus shitting myself we lose both halves to injury every game

No on that front I’m the opposite. I like Joash, but I don’t want to go into the year with him as our first choice if we can avoid it.

What additional value does he add to the team beyond what Moses already does? That we couldn't get by strengthening other positions?

Why would he make that an immediately better ????

He is a rookie and I’ve seen nothing special , he does not offer more than papali on the ball only kicks and we don’t need a kicker we have the best on the comp

he's the second most capped player in the history of rugby league, and played 30+ rep games for QLD and Australia.

100% this decision goes completely against our stance from last season.

I just don’t like us looking like a stepping stone destination for a player. Putting the shoe on
the other foot do we think Pezet would have gone to the Broncos for a season then go to sign with Parra long term after that? Not a chance.

This is the problem with sports fans in general. You’d rather not benefit from a player for a year if it meant another club didn’t also benefit. There’s no win-win with you people. You think we’d go better with Papalii at 6 next year, or you just don’t f**king care.
