Every NRL fanbase's most painful moment?

The other night I watched this video:

It got me thinking what the version would be for each NRL team?

Like for a newer side like the Dolphins it'd be hard to identity one, whereas for other sides (Tigers, Broncos, Parra, Dragons) it's a case of take your pick.

I'm interested to see if for some teams there's near universal consensus vs other teams where it's a toss-up between several different moments.

during my time watching the game

Broncos: Kyle Feldt try/Ben Hunt kick off knock on
Bulldogs: Salary cap bust when they were on a massive roll
Storm: Salary cap bust when they looked odds on to win the comp
Eels: Getting blown away in the 2001 grand final
Sharks: 2013 finals, match winning try pulled back because Morris took out a marker
Cowboys: Foran hand of god/Beau Ryan 7th tackle try
Dragons: Penalty try
Sea Eagles: Darren Albert try
Tigers: Anasta field goal/SKD 100th minute try
Knights: Johns intercept pass and mouth guard toss
Souths: Reynolds missed conversion
Canberra: Boogs dropped ball 2003 vs Wahs
Panthers: blown away 2020 grand final
Titans: 2010 prelim? Nothing really stands out here
Warriors: 2008 prelim? Nothing really stands out here
Roosters: Crock pulled down by his bootlaces in dying stages of 04 grand final
Dolphins: nothing really stands out

Warriors losing Sonny Fai in a preseason tragedy -nothing else is close
The unraveling of the 2002 team in the Grand Final against the Roosters & subsequent falling out with Daniel Anderson & crash down the table to 2nd last in 2004 was the on-field heartbreaker.

As far as management fumbles go, got to mention losing Ivan Cleary as coach too. That hurt at the time, then really stung recently.

.

For me it was the 84 final. Saints dominated the Eels for the whole game. They couldn't even make it out of their own half. Then in the last couple of minutes Kevin Roberts, the crook, penalises saints on the 4th or 5th tackle two sets in a row, putting the Eels right inside the saints quarter line with a minute to go. Grothe scores in the corner for an Eels win.

It was like someone pulled a knife out and stabbed me in the heart.

Nah mang for me the 2016 cap cheating was much worse than 2001. Esp after being on the end of it from the unrepentant purple f**ks.

Tbh 2005 was worse than 2001 too. That was a much more premiership likely squad with much less high quality competition...

I remember thinking all day we’d be playing you in 2005, then Daniel Wagon shot out of the line….on my.

Fair enough on 2016, felt like much less of a rug pull than the Storm and Dogs getting done

It probably saved the his side from total embarrassment the following week, but Patrick Herbert denying the Titans a very rare finals win by refusing to pass was pretty f**ked.

Broncos could also be the 2023 GF
Storm: 40-0
Eels: 1998 prelim vs Canterbury
Sharks: 1999 prelim vs the Dragons
Dragons: maybe the 2005 prelim vs the Tigers?
Manly: maybe losing the 1983 or 1995 GF's after being the form team all season?
Tigers (Wests): 1978 finals/ the break-up of the nucleus of that late 70's and early 80's squad and then losing Roy Masters as well?
Tigers (Balmain) 1989 GF
Souths: crashing out of the finals in '89 after winning the Minor Premiership/ getting kicked out of the comp 10 years later?
Canberra: crashing out the finals this season in back to back home games after winning the Minor Premiership
Panthers: 1992, Ben Alexander's death and the dynasty that never eventuated?
Roosters: losing back to back GF's in 2003/04?

As a Raiders fan a few stick out.

Hudson-Young getting binned for sledging.
6again, nah just kidding. Handover.
Campos knee exploding against the Tigers. Would have setup a prelim against the Dragons and we weren't losing that.
Ricky's broken leg in 93.

For this Rooster, and many others, it was the 2004 GF. 2003 we lost to a better team, Penrith outplayed us. In 2004, against a team which, whilst by then salary cap compliant, still comprised the same players who been caught as part of the salary cap cheat of 2002, combined with many players self admittedly playing their worst half of football that season in the second half, made it incredibly painful.
