I reckon three or four years ago Munster was better (or at least more consistent) than Walsh's current level. But Munster is on the decline, albeit from a very high level. Walsh is still on the way up.

Do you think the 20yld Fullback from Storms Jersey Flegg side can make it? Ive heard he could be a superstar but he also played Flegg at age 20 which like You’ve mentioned is a bad sign not to atleast be in NSW CUP by that age.

Walsh is currently the best player in world. But it's been for maybe 7-8 games he has been red hot.
In 2026 every sides game plan will be based around shutting him down. Let's see how he copes with it.
Hayne had to change his game after 2009/2010. Sides kinda stopped his dynamic plays. By 2014 I reckon he become the more complete player. His run game may of decline slightly but his defense, passing game and decision making was out of this world. He evolved. I think Walsh probably will need to do similar.

I think Walsh subconsciously went into his shell a little after the Sualili head shot that was horrible. Also I think the Panthers centre knocked him out in the same year. Credit to him and coach Maguire, he gained confidence and is now back on track

Id feel like sides don't target players as much unless they play for a top side. Brisbane were off in 2024 and probably not taken overly serious this year untill late on. Similar to 2009 Hayne in a way.
2026 for him will be his hardest so far.

I've never heard of him or even seen him play but I can tell you right now he is shit

Whilst I agree with your formula it's always different at different clubs and circumstances so it isn't the best gauge.
I would suggest perhaps fullback is a spine players and need a little more time to develop then wing or centre.

On Walsh he will never reach Haynes level because he just doesn't have the size. Good lucky trying to take Hayne out of the game physically with a few big shots.
If I was coach I would be hitting Walsh very hard early in games. And play dirty. Hands in his face, maybe a few stray elbows, ankle twists. He's very emotional type. Wind him up amd see how he handle it.

I think its a sign that the game play is healthy (but could do with my rule input) if players like Walsh and Moses are considered the best in the game rather than Chindog millionaire.
The sport should think of Walsh as one of those canary's that go down into the mine shaft to test the air quality and if the canary comes out dead the air is f**ked such that you don't send humans down into the mine or they will probably come out dead as well.

My rule changes would be if you score a try you have to kick off. Unless you defer the conversion attempt. Then receive ball.
It would keep contests more even and stop sides like Penrith/Storm just grinding you to death amd starving you of the ball.

Agreed, though most (maybe all, I haven’t checked) NRL fullbacks were already playing reserve grade at 20. Maybe many of them were playing wing (again, I haven’t checked) though, and this particular Storm fullback is too small for the wing. I note he does have a touch footy background.

Really happy for Paulo watching him playing so well. I thought he was past it but he has had a great season I think so huge congrats.

If we landed another decent prop I’d love to see him stick around a bit longer as a bench player playing well.
